  1. can't seem to load your attached pics... something is wrong???
  2. why do you say you'll keep it private then turn around & give a website link??? what are you trying to prove???
  3. what? ETA 2824 movement costs only US$100?
  4. isn't that a bracelet of the 45.5mm PO??? the clasp has "Planet Ocean" engraved on it... I believe that the 42mm doesn't have that engraving... this is a weird post... no pics of the actual bracelet after modification... weird!
  5. the UPO is too big & bulky... it looks like a monster on your wrist... hence the reason why I didn't pull the trigger on it... other than the size, it's a great rep.
  6. looks great... is this the model where the subdials spacing are incorrect ??? this is the modified Asian 7750 movement from its natural subdial positions 6,9,12 to 3,6,9???
  7. aahh... the reliability of Asian 7750 movements... I wish they would be better in this new year... but I'm not keeping my hopes up... such a shame
  8. I agree 100%... this is just like oil... people exaggerate chaos in the middle east which creates instability, then everybody panics... results in higher oil prices... it's all a gimmic from the sellers to squeeze more money from us consumers!!!
  9. I wonder why alot of new genuine watchs have clear display casebacks??? is it because the reps have been so close to the gens in the recent years that it's impossible to tell unless you open the caseback... perhaps the watch designers use display casebacks so that it's easier to tell it's a rep??? or is it just a design issue???
  10. from my knowledge I don't believe the 42mm has any 6th or 7th generation... the latest 42mm generation is the 4th... the 45mm UPO is the 5th generation [the latest generation]... which is the closest rep to the genuine Planet Ocean... I believe the UPO came out back in late 2006... there hasn't been any new models of the Planet Ocean [42mm or 45mm] in 2007... perhaps the senior members can clarify this???
  11. I have a similar dilemma... torn between TAG Link Chrono & UPO... as I also have a relatively small wrist [6.5"] I'm hesistant to buy the UPO, however, it's engined by a Swiss ETA... whereas the TAG Link Chrono is a smaller size but it's engined by the Asian 7750, therefore, needs to be serviced & oiled, which is very costly compared to the price of the rep... it's a decision between UPO [bulky but reliable] or TAG Link Chrono [good size but questionable reliability]... decisions decision :cc_confused: another thing is I'm 29 years old... I don't think many people in my age range could afford an OMEGA... so I think people will "see through" that it's a rep... whereas a TAG would be more, how should I say it... "deceptive"
  12. thanks freddy... so ALL these Tachymeters on wrist-watchs are for miles/hour... what happens if the person is in countries that uses kilometres/hour??? I'm in Australia, & we don't use miles, we use kilometres... it'll be confusing to convert into km/hr from miles/hr.
  13. I've always wondered how to use the Tachymeter on the bezel of watch... can anyone explain it???
  14. thanks guys... I'm aware that The Zigmeister has a very respectful reputation, but he's in Canada I'm a little concerned that if I go around asking watch-smiths around Sydney, maybe one day, one of them might call the police on me... I'm not aware of the laws in Australia regarding having in possession of counterfeit watches... that's my main concern. another is that how do I know if a watch-smith is a reputable one where he will do what he says he is capable of & does the servicing with quality... I can't tell if he has actually DONE any work on the movement unless I open the caseback... & even when I open up the caseback, I can't dissemble the movement to check if it's been serviced & oiled... for I am not very knowledgeable on watch movements
  15. does anyone know where I can go to get the Asian 7750 movement serviced in Sydney, AUSTRALIA??? seems like there aren't too many members on this forum who are down-under I'm not sure if my local watchsmith could do it...
  16. I think there should be a new section on this forum where members can express their inputs on the improvements of each rep. for example, the UPO should have the correct pearl, logo on dial, etc. that way, the dealers maybe able to communicate with the rep manufacturers to modify/improve reps to the standards that our members are satisfied with. it will help with their business too. I don't think any new reps deserves the title "Ultimate Edition" unless the members agree it deserves the title. I think a rep can only be titled the "Ultimate" if every visible aspect of it is correct to the gen [except the movement]. "Ultimate" shouldn't need any modification/improvements after we've bought them. this is my 2 cents.
  17. when did this "6th generation" PO come out??? I thought the latest PO was the 45.5mm UPO [5th generation] that By-Tor did a review of back in end of 2006??? & did you say that Josh is selling this rep for under US$200??? last time I checked he was selling Swiss ETA 2824 for US$278 [excluding shipping]... that OMEGA logo on the dial is way way too big & still the wrong feet [feet like a clown]!!! why can't they make the pearl & the OMEGA logo exactly like the gen, it's not that hard!!!
  18. I can only read the first intro. post in each of the 4 categories... nothing else how can I become a RWG supporter??? I would really like to read The Zigmeister's posts
  19. how can I access RWiki??? I want to have a read at The Zigmeister's movement breakdowns... but there's no posts in RWiki
  20. I have been putting off getting this rep... just the fact that it's a Chrono, therefore, it uses the New Asian 7750 movement... I'm just put off by the "reliability" concern... as I'm in Australia... I don't know who I can go to have this oiled & serviced... as for the OMEGA logo on the dial... doesn't the gen have the OMEGA flat legs??? this rep has the same shaped OMEGA logo as the UPO 45mm???
  21. wow... your pearl does NOT seem so "green" as shown in the website... your pearl seems to be white, same colour as the hour lume on the dial... it's better than I expected... & isn't Andrew's & Josh's the same UPO??? Josh's web pics has pearl that looked too "green" for my liking really nice rep... congratulations
  22. IMHO it's a really really nice looking watch... but the only problem I have is the SS bracelet... the gap between the bracelet links are just too big for my liking... if you take the rep off of your wrist & hold it in your hands, the rep will feel too floppy... a dead give away that it's a NOT a genuine TAG... what a pity.
  23. one problem with this UPO... it's gonna be way way too bulky on my 7inch wrist... what a pity.
  24. yea... I'm aware of that... UPO is just for the "rep world" I send an email to Ruby & she said that her 45.5mm PO is the same as Andrew's & Josh's... people are telling me different things... "analysis paralysis" I'm confused
  25. r u saying that Silix's crystal doesn't have AR coating??? what about the SS bracelet, is it as good as Josh's??? I'm in Australia... where would I get the tube & crown replaced with the gen??? this will be my first rep... I have no idea where to get it serviced in Australia when it's necessary & why isn't Silix's classified as an UPO???
