  1. @ FxrAndy I was under the impression that PureTime (Angus in HongKong) do NOT do any QC like EuroTimez (Chris in China) & Precious Time (PT in Europe)???
  2. regarding the speculation that some members are being "sponsored" by dealers... it was simply a speculation!!! now that we know that members are not being "sponsored" it clears things up. it's good to know. having said this, how would anyone know if no one asked this question???
  3. I think I opened up a bad can of worms. @lanikai please don't get upset or angry, no one said you had any wrong doing, I was not attacking you.
  4. it's a damn fine looking watch, but it does look so thick on your wrist on one of the pics showing the thickness. it's like a brick, almost. why did you get it from iOffer anywayz??? the dealers on this forum have the exact one for sale.
  5. this PAM 240 is growing on me
  6. @RobbieG damn your gen 42mm looks so damn good. love your gen lume.
  7. Time & again, I see newbies posting their frustrations & problems of a transaction they recently had, & some senior members would criticize them for not sorting out the problems out privately, first, with the dealer. The seniors say that "only if it's not solved then vent out your problems on the forum, give the dealer a chance to sort it out first". They insist that not solving the problems privately, first, is not helping the community. I see some irony here. To effectively help the members on this forum is for everyone to have knowledge of the "TOTAL" details of the good & bad issues that happen in the transactions. To only reveal & shed light on the issue, once the problem is solved, only creates a biased & abstract view on the outcome. We don't know the full story so it's very easy to misinterpret the reality & we can not correctly make an assessment on it. If a member receives a defective watch, then he/she should be encouraged, & not be afraid, to tell all of us the problems from the very beginning. Then keep us informed with updates of how the dealer handles the issus & how it's resolved or not. It's only through this method that we, all, have a "balanced" view & expectations on the reality of our rep hobby. Otherwise, seeing only the good side of this hobby give the newbies a very unrealistic expectations when they get their first rep. I wonder why are some senior memebers so opinionated & stubborn in doing business their way??? Could it be that some members are being "sponsored" by the dealers on this forum??? I'm speculating on this because many times I read some of the replies from seniors & they seem to have so much "stubbornness" invested in their views that makes me wonder if they're getting paid (or getting some reward) to support the dealers??? I didn't want to say all this on this forum, but I think it needs to come out in the open. I'm sure there are some of you, just like me, who have been wondering why newbies are being "bashed" for their posts on their sour experiences. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get some "bashing" for saying all this, but I said it already, it's too late, oh well, let the "bashing" beginning
  8. well, you could always "divorce"??? & go through that exciting roller-coaster of initial infactuation of dating it's a rep, it just doesn't "hide" the crystal that's all I meant.
  9. @ stj007, I don't have any more pics of this rep. after a couple of months wearing the same watch everyday, you kind of get "numb", it's not a novelty anymore & the excitement that once experienced at the very beginning seems to have diminished. having said that, it's still a very high quality rep. I don't get sick of the watch, just get accustomed to it. sort of like the feeling between "dating" & "marriage" really, that's how I can best put it. regarding the AR, this version has only 1-sided AR on the inside of the crystal, it's quite light, doesn't really do a good job like the gen of course, but it's just there to show the bluish reflection on certain angles. believe me, this dial is purely "black" & the printing is crisp & sharp. I'm also thinking of getting a genuine allagator/croc leather strap in the near future. it would look really good & dressy with a nice suit.
  10. count me in for a Ultimate version of the 42mm PO... it will sell like hot cakes for sure... there are too many people who have wrists that are too small for the 45mm UPO.
  11. well, you could say that you've had them for years... who would carry receipts for normal everyday items??? & if they ask why do you carry so many watchs on this trip??? "none of your F#$ken business, I'm on a business trip & I like wearing different watchs everyday, this is my lifestyle, you have a problem with that???" maybe a bit harsh but, at the end of the day, Customs Officers can not tell us how we ought to live our lives. everybody has different personal preferences... what if they saw 7 new undies in your carry-on luggage... are they gonna ask why don't you just carry 1???
  12. @takashi... I agree with you... the crystal display case back is so prevalent in the new designs of alot of gens these days... I think the watch companies are deliberating designing new watchs with display case backs to act as a "built-in" fight against counterfeit watchs... it's an instant "give-away" if anyone wear one of these display case back reps... it's a smart move by the Swiss watch companies.
  13. @UncleJay... I'm with you all the way!!! quality control needs a boost for sure... we've all complained about QC but it's never boosted.
  14. excellento!!! amazing review, loved it... personally I think the movement design is more beautiful than the dial-face design.
  15. I personally wouldn't like the idea of having my 7 reps in the "cargo" luggage... they go through a lot of kicking & beating by the handlers... then again, that's what happens when we buy our reps from the dealers & have them shipped from China... I personally would put all the 7 reps in a watch case, all nicely wrapped, all stickers & protection removed, packed in my carry-on luggage... if the Customs Officers ask me why I have so many watches I say, "none of your business, they're expensive watches & they're mine." that would work???
  16. ETA engravings on the main plate isn't hard to do. if the serial numbers can be engraved on the case-backs then is shouldn't be that hard to replicate it on the movement main plate.
  17. you guys have so much time in your hands... I asked a simple question & was expecting a simple answer
  18. actually, I think I was the one who said there's a bit of big gaps between the individual SS links on bracelet. my bracelet number is 975 (shown at the back of the end links connected to the luggs). I think Rolexman's & lanikai's SS bracelet have 951 on the end links (they're from different dealers than mine). the SS bracelet on mine is quite solid, it's only a big "floppy" near the clasps (where the pins can be removed for wrist size adjustment), otherwise at the top towards the luggs are quite solid. this rep is just amazing, the complicated dial-face is so sharp, & the metallic hour markers & hands all SHINE so bright under lighting, it's simply stunning
  19. amazing rep... how are the SS bracelet on the rep compared to the gen??? the double AR job is superb... gotta love the lume
  20. it looks like automatic. it's got a rotor.
  21. does anyone know which type of spring bar tool to use for removing the SS bracelet from the new OMEGA SpeedMaster Date chrono rep??? there's a few different spring bar tool around but I'm not sure which one to use.
  22. it's very elegant... would look really spunky with a nice suit & tie... can't wait to see a rep of this.
  23. haha I see a lot of members aren't great fans of this Rolex. is Rolex going out of fashion?
  24. hhmm... that pic makes this Sea-Dweller look better that it actually is.
  25. look at this beauty!!! the new Sea-Dweller in stell with ceramic bezel. it's called the "Deep Sea". rated to 3,900 meters!!! amazingly beautiful
