  1. Did you get the blue dial or white dial with blue subdials?
  2. The AR is not what I expected on this Gen. You cannot see any blue hue at all - the AR is hard to see. The dial is clear as you would expect but not at all angles. I've since read that gens have single inside AR. In all the pictures i've taken, only one shows the AR coating which is awesome. I always hated 'seeing' the AR on my reps. Anyway, please find below a million new pics taken today on a new strap. This is made by fellow member, rcrscom. Made from an old baseball glove and cost under $100. Seriously awesome and thick strap. It rivals the Ted Su ($300+ strap) and Micah ($150+ strap) I also own. Enough pics for now..
  3. Here's some of those macro shots I was talking about. I took another bunch of pictures today which ill post also.
  4. Hi All, Well this is the second part of my move after selling many of my highly modded reps. Most of which made up my extensive and rare Panerai collection. Initially I was going to buy two Breitlings, an SA and 6.75 but I changed my mind once this Panerai came available at my local Boutique AD. Please welcome a GEN Panerai 111K. This is such a fantiastic piece and im so happy I went with this model over the 104 (which I was also very closely considering). I guess the reasons for this were the sandwich dial and display back. I've tried to capture all different angles of this dial. It truly is something special to behold. Please excuse the million and one (many average) pictures. I went a little snap happy this afternoon. Also as with my BSA, due to the AUD pricing etc, I paid $4250 USD BNIB from a Boutique AD. I believe the retail in the states is about $5100?. I paid full AUD retail which is $6400 but RRP hasn't changed to reflect the recent drop in the dollar yet. I've seen a couple 111K's selling second hand on TZ/Paneristi for $4500 USD so I know im still ahead which is great. I have plans to grab one of the latest 'ultimate' 104 and 88 from Josh once my bank account recovers. Will most likely ship them off to Vac for some work and then my collection wont be so bare again. I've taken some close up shots of the case (as close as I could get it) as some have asked for more close detail pictures. I'll upload the shortly.
  5. Thanks for the comments guys. Absolutely loving this. So glad I made the move to Gen. The price is great considering the AUD at present. What you need to understand is that the dollar is about 65c today. When these aussie retail prices were set, the AUD was close to 1:1 USD. When that was the case, it would've been much cheaper to buy from the states or grey market. What im happy about is that the dollar wont move back to 1:1 for a while, and if I sell in the next year at the price I paid ($2400 USD) it'll sell quick and ill get every cent back I spent on it. lol. This same rule applies to the Panerai 111K im buying. Im getting this for full retail $6400 AUD (no discount on PAM in AUS) which is almost $4280 USD. I've seen the 111K selling second hand on TZ for $4900 USD!. Hope you can understand all that. I could essentially flip both of these watches for the common second hand prices on TZ and MAKE money. Today I was out on a bloody awesome Yacht with the family and the chef was a Gordon Ramsay Apprentice (awesome food btw). Well he took a liking to ol Ramsay I think cause he was wearing a very nice Navitimer. Ramsay is a Breitling Ambassador right? Anyway, I took a couple pictures on my iPhone but these two came out ok. Gotta love women, the water and watches..
  6. Hi All Well as some will know, im cutting down my collection quite considerably to make room for some genuine watch purchases. It was always my intention to build up my rep collection and then sell parts off to replace with a few select genuine watches which I really love. I guess it was a way of saving up for them and enjoying the process along the way. Doing this has allowed me to really be sure of what watches I want as 'keepers' and IMO, the only true keepers are gens. Not giving up on rep collecting and will be keeping a few (Skyland is just THAT good!). Items im moving can be seen here. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?p=518397#post518397 Today I picked up a new 2008 Breitling Super Avenger with a white baton's dial. This is some serious hardware to say the least. Now I also own (which is for sale), a Franken Super Avenger with a genuine black dial, bezel, ETA7750 on genuine calf & deployant. While for all intents and purposes the franken is essentially a gen to the eye, and even with an ETA7750 comes close to the feeling of the real thing, there is still something to be said about the quality and feel of the genuine article. It's hard to explain other than to say it's incredibly satisfying. I've also placed a deposit on a new 111K at my local AD and I should pick this up in the next week. For now, enjoy the SA!. BTW.. im not sure what the US retail price is or what you can get these for but I paid $4004 AUD which was 30% off the Aussie RRP. That amounts to approx $2644 USD at today's exchange rate. An absolute steal for this kinda money really! mmmk... lets go outside..
  7. Gen movement right?.. holy jeebus!
  8. Yup.. white dial = win
  9. Short of sourcing genuine parts to build a Franken (which i've not seen anyone do yet on a Sec's @ 12), I think the Sec's @ 12 from the stealers with a good strap is as good as you can get these days.
  10. Well I think they're money well spent and have made enquiries to purchase one already. I've just today bought a 202/A to match my 201/A and once I have Simon's dials installed, ill purchase the box to fit them in. Great work Rolli.. water off a ducks back these silly comments.
  11. Mate your 250 is sitting pretty on the SC... love that watch so much. The daylights are by far my most favorite PAM's and are second to none. I have got to get one of your dials for my 201/A. Currently it has a full C3 lumed dial from DSN (custom order with Jaykeem by CC). Any updates? Thanks TeeJay - I love the fact I have a little diversity particularly with a nice Ti PAM. A GMT and a SUB are certainly two on my mind.
  12. Thanks for all the comments guys. Much appreciated. Alot of time, money and thought went into those pieces i've chosen and while some have moved on, (232 for example) they will never be forgotten. As I said, I really want a 253, 127, and either an 027 or 028 with genuine movement. Throw in an 063 with genuine movement also and im set. Oh hang on, what about an ultimate 104 or 164.. damn this is too hard. Still waiting on my homer 8 pam box to arrive but once it does, ill reshoot them in real style. As for straps, I also have; TedSu Honey Brown Crocodile w/ Ivory Stitch Genuine Antique Brown Crocodile w/ White Stitch Tootall B2 w/ White Stitch (which is for sale - brand new)
  13. Thanks dadog13. The strap on my 183G is from rcrscom @ repgeek (as is the strap on my 201/A). Exceptional value at under $100. Made from an old, very much used baseball glove. The TedSu straps are incredible. They are quite stiff when they first arrive but fit well. They are very expensive (this one is retailed at $290-300) but they are great quality.
  14. Hey all... I've never taken a decent group shot of my PAM's so here goes. I recently sold my 232 so that is not included but it's off to another member whom i'm sure will appreciate it. All watches are seriously modded - not a standard PAM in my collection. Im hoping to add a Flav 127 Fiddy and The Zigmeister lumed 253 Regatta soon enough also. Lots of pics so enjoy. Here's the list of mods to my PAM's. Panerai 176H Luminor DSN Build, Vaclume, Palp Crown, ETA6497 Panerai 250 Daylight OEM Crown, Lello DW, The Zigmeister Lume/Build, ETA7753 Panerai 188 Daylight OEM Crown, Lello DW, The Zigmeister Lume/Build, ETA7753 Panerai 001B Luminor Marina JimmyFu Case, Palp Crown, The Zigmeister Lume/Build, ETA6497 Panerai Pre-V 5218-201/A DSN Dial/Hands, V's CG, 1:1 Crown, The Zigmeister Build, ETA6497 Panerai 183G Radiomir Flav Lume/Build, The Zigmeister Serviced, A6497 188 - Genuine Black Crocodile w/ Black Stitch 176 - SC Legend II w/ Ivory Stitch 250 - SC Veiter Tan w/ White Stitch 183 - rcrscom Baseball Glove w/ Ivory Stitch 201/A - rcrscom Baseball Glove w/ Black Stitch 001B - TedSu Golden Crocadile w/ Ivory Stitch
  15. I think it was italiano who posted a thread of his 'safari' ROO and it was a very vivid white color - not cream at all. The color of the pictures on Josh's site NOW, and the genuine pictures look creamy white. I don't know what to think.
  16. It certainly looks different and more accurate to my eyes. Perhaps the pictures of the initial sec@12 safari had the white balance adjusted so it looked bright white. But im sure i've seen members pictures of this model and it still looked very bright white. It must have changed - what would cause it to 'look' off white/cream if it wasnt. White balance wont do that.
  17. My now sold Omega SMP Chrono is franken. (Genuine Dial, Hands, Bezel, Insert, Crown, Bracelet, ETA7750) My Breitling Super Avenger is franken. (Genuine Dial, Bezel, Calf, Deployant, Chief AR, ETA7750) My Breitling Bentley 6.75 is NOT franken. (Genuine Calf, Deployant, Jakub AR) My Panerai 250/236 is NOT franken. (Genuine crown, full mods, ETA7753) I come to these conclusions by the fact that significant parts of a watch must be genuine to be franken. (dial, hands, case, bezel ONLY) Anything less, and its 'highly modded' with genuine X (calf/deployant/crown etc)
  18. I noticed this yesterday as im looking to grab an APROO and mod the bracelet to hornback and so on. IMO the AP bands strap will walk all over that from Josh/Andrew. I dont doubt that for a second. Where I do see the real value in buying from J/A is that you will get a conversion kit for free essentially. They're not asking anymore for the LE variant over the SS I believe. So still grab yourself an APbands strap, but save $180 on the conversion kit.
  19. Would also love to see some of these. Need to get me a 201/A dial.
  20. Love the black dial 6.75 - such a remarkable piece. A very nice rep indeed and one that I have been considering buying the genuine of, but with the blue dial. I too have myself a fully modded white dial Bentley 6.75 with Jakub AR, Genuine Deployant & Genuine Brown Calf. Here's some pics along with my even further modded Super Avenger (Gen Dial, Bezel, Calf, Deplyant, ETA7750, HauteHippie AR)
  21. Mate what color did you go with? Oh and where are the pics!.
  22. Looking great buddy. Im guessing that's a V CG on the 111H?. Love it. I have both 188 and 250 7753 PAM's.. two of the best in my collection.
  23. You have owned a gen 111H right G?... you of all people can say if its worth it. You cant beat a gen though I suppose but your right, $1200 is a hell of alot for a rep. In saying that, I have over $1000 in 3 of my reps alone. 2 are 7753 based and the other ETA7750. I have considered moving to a couple of gens but my reps (just about ALL highly modded) are so accurate - its worth the price in many ways to invest into the models you really love.
  24. That'd [censored] me off..
  25. Honkeytonkman - 1. What base dial did you use? (backplate) - 2. Who did the lume for you? Your watch is complete and absolutely incredible. Im not saying I wont buy a LH dial @ $200. I just think its expensive considering the added and hidden costs. See even if for a specific example, I used my existing 112/176 dial in my 176 which is a DSN dial. And I added LH's 112/176 top plate dial, i'd still be stuck with lume color that isn't very accurate (at least to my liking). DSN's lume on my 176 looks a little yellow compared to my flav lumed 183G - which has a dial very accurate like all LH's dials with ivory font etc and white/ivory daylight lume. This means I would need to send out my DSN dial (backplate) with LH's top plate to Vac for example (or preferably The Zigmeister) for an accurate lume. I guarantee you once all these steps are taken, and shipping is paid, your talking way over $300.. hell i'd even hazard a guess at $400. I still want one.
