z3k0
I just noticed Josh put up spare BP movements for sale, still no description nor price, though. But it looks like DW is already raised: Since I still didn't open up my BPs I'm not sure, could someone with experience chime in regards

Watchmeister
Unbelievable news. I have had a gen dial, crown and strap sitting around just waiting for a gen movement. Now I can continue waiting with a watch on my wrist. I went to Josh's website. Am I reading correctly that his latest version incorporates the new movement or do folks think you have to buy the movement separately? http://www.jpc8118.com/000000iwbp10001-pil...uto-p-6643.html
bwhitesox
Kruz it looks like his new version has 'No recessed date' so would incorporate this movement.
veyron
According to Josh all Big Pilot's also have installed this movement so you only have to buy the complete movement if you want to update your old Big Pilot
Flashman
Maybe they will then get round to correcting the back of the case, putting the power reserve indicator in the correct position and installing a thinner seconds hand. One step at a time.....
veyron
I agree with the power reserve, very easy to fix for them But what is wrong with the back of the case?

Flashman
The back of the case has the case opening indents and text much further out than the gen.
bob bean
Am I correct in assuming that this is a faux PR movement though?
Flashman
Yep, the faux PR model has a much more accurate dial. The working PR version is way out.
deltatahoe
wow -- very interesting. i think this is a very good development -- not only for this watch, but also for the future great to see the factories responding and modding our watches for us deltatahoe
Watchmeister
Actually I think it is a testament to the fact that the forums may not be the driver of sales but they can influence what manufacturers do or don't do. And this is one where by making a fix (which must cost virtually nothing) it will help drive sales.
ubiquitous
Agree, kruz- I'm sure that the forums serve as a test bed of sorts to check product reaction and adjust as necessary (maybe) based on input from members.
silverspeed
Very good news indeed, now let's get the A7750's with the recessed datewheels fixed. I know from at least one dealer that the factories/makers are now able to fix this. From what I heard it is now just a matter of getting the components ready for delivery to the factories/makers. sfa437
Now that they have this issue fixed I'm gonna pop for a grey dial one. For me the DW was a killer- everything else I can live with
