flyback Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Following are pics of my 6152/1. What do you think of it ? Comments (good or bad) are welcome That's a Davidsen case and dial with a swiss 6497 and a savage strap. Redone myself the dial.
Drulee Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Where did the crown guard come from? "Brev Ital"
flyback Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 Where did the crown guard come from? "Brev Ital" Davidsen ! I have painted the text in black .
Cubeistan Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 It looks very nice. What did you do on the dial?
flyback Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 (edited) It looks very nice. What did you do on the dial? I have removed Davidsen lume that was a little bit yellow and repaint the dial with translucent yellow/orange paint (that is difficult to see in the pictures but it's translucent). l3x Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I like it. Great watch and strap combo. But would look even better (to me) if the numbers weren't as redish.
Merlin Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 a beautiful watch, but the indices are a little bit too redish while the hands are too white. looks grat on this strap.
ubiquitous Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 That's a THICK crystal! Also... Where's the caseback? Looking good so far!
projectologist Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I love 6152/1 projects. Your's turned out great, but have to agree with others and suggest toning down the reddish orange in the indices and maybe make it a little uneven. Congratulations and well done!
RWG Technical Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Good work, I agree on the numbers, a bit less red and more of a tan/ochre colour would be nice. Well done.
BlackBison Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 if you like the indices i say go with it, lovely match with the strap. the hands on the other hand are another story being bright white
jibuti Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Agree with upper guys about numerals, too. Aging a bit of dial hands might help... Nice to see a watch case hanging on that huge CG... Good start.
flyback Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 Thanks all for your nice comments ! I will try to better match the dial/hands with a little less orange color.
HalCyon Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 too reddish on the dials... agree with the rest to tone it down a little... and... VINTAGIZE IT! nice job tho bud.
hambone Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Stunning watch. One of the best vintage jobs I have seen. Wear it with pride.
