Limestone Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I'm sorry to say that I'm a "sucker" for these energy drinks on the market... You know RedBull etc. I know they'r not the best beverage for ya, but I'm stuck So, when Monster Energy was introduced in my country I got a new favorite. But I think it's a little pricy. My nearest supermarket askes $ 2.5 for a can. And yesterday I took a ride on my motorcycle, stopped by a "kiosk". They was asking almost $4 for a singel can..... 4 bucks.. So my question to you, my international friends...is this a high price compered to your country? Bonus question; what's your fav energy drink (please don't say water ) // H
KB Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I don't drink them myself but as an ex contractor for Coca Cola I know that yes they are expensive and no there is no good reason for this. Ken

Ken I see.. So is Monster a part of the CocaCola company, or what energy drink do they produce?
Guest HaloArchive Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I dont drink energy drinks. Iced green tea and lemon is the best and most energizing combination! Recipe: (Makes 1 gallon worth) -Boil 8 Cups water -Once boiled, put in 4 green tea bags or, 4 tablespoons loose leaf -Let steep for 15 minutes and strain out the leafs or remove the bags -Put in 1.5 cups sugar and let disolve -pour half into a half gallon container and the other half into a half gallon container -add 4 cups water to each container and squeeze half a lemon into each container. Bam, and you have yourself some sweet southern sweet tea that gives you instant energy! (You need the lemon so your body absorbs the natural caffeine -- it raises the acidity in the small intestine allowing for better absorption!) H EDIT: Monster I believe is Coca Cola and Amp is by Pepsi Co.
KB Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 I see.. So is Monster a part of the CocaCola company, or what energy drink do they produce? I have been gone from CC for about 4 years now and have never heard of Monster energy drink before, I was making a general comment on all energy drinks. It's much the same as mineral waters or indeed just plain water, there's nothing to justify the price other than they are popular. Ken

Whaaaaaa? Thats a lot of sugar there
Pugwash Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 Whaaaaaa? Thats a lot of sugar there How much do you think is in your average can of fizzy pop?
andreww Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Monster does a lot of marketing and sponsorship, which I assume drives the price upwards. Unlike regular soft drinks, you cant expect consumers to knock back 4 or 5 of these a day either. They are pricey, but I think their competition is more the Starbucks crowd than the Coke crowd.
Limestone Posted August 6, 2009 Author Report Posted August 6, 2009 4 or 5 a day?? Man I would be sooooo worked up on 4-5 a day. 1 or maximum of 2 per day... or I
Dani Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Beer - It even makes Scandinavian men look good. LOL all Scandinavians look good my friend. About the price 2,5$ aint nothing that is the price for a 0,5l bottle of water here in Norway or i believe that is 2,8$ 3,5$ for a box of Redbull. Kiosk its about 5$ for a redbull. My fav is redbull.
hexagram Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Coca-Cola doesn't have any involvement with Monster energy drinks. It could just be that your country's Coca-Cola distributor also distributes "Monster". Coca-Cola's energy drink is called "Full Throttle" Then there's an energy soda by Coca-Cola called Vault (which is loaded with caffeine [it used to be called Surge]) I don't really drink energy drinks but when I do, I usually go for a "Vault" No guarana, or any herbal extracts. Caffeine is the magic ingredient (70.5mg/can, 117.5mg/bottle). It's a citrus soda. Edited August 9, 2009 by hexagram
Raijor Posted August 9, 2009 Report Posted August 9, 2009 Coffee is my personal pick me up energy drink.
