tmg Posted August 9, 2009 Report Share Posted August 9, 2009 Here's a new addition to my stable a matte dial transitional 16750 from 1979 (6 million SN) with a nice aged almost tan colored tritium. I've been wrestling with purchasing a gen 1675 for years and now with the prices dropping back down to where they were 3-4 years ago I decided to pull the trigger. Instead I opted to go with a 16750 quickset, call me lazy with setting the date -I love the silver datewheel! (but sigh, no flat top 3 to be had ). So here are a few pix... I mean, nothing against some of the new models... and while the new GMT IIc is a great looking watch generally... the original GMT "spirit" is certainly lost. It's Pepsi or nothing. I swapped the insert out for a much more aged and faded one that I felt it set off the patina of the dial/hands better.... Now I think its done!!!
