HauteHippie Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 OK, this is a gen here, boys (and it's not mine)... Tell me what you think. Only 300 of these exist in the world. In 2003 Omega made a special run of 300 Black Sub-dial/White Dial Speedmasters for the Mitsukoshi department store chain in Japan. Not to be confused with the 35th Anniversary edition which had a similar (but different) dial... Here are a few pics: Remind anyone of this at all?
redwatch Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I like it! That's a great looking piece! And it definitely looks very reminiscent of the daytona, but in a good way.
hackR Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 before i scrolled down to see the daytona, i was thinking how much i liked it better than the Daytona...somewhat classier, i think... R-
dluddy Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I like it...clean and fresh dial with the old-time Cosmo vibe
hackR Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 I like it...clean and fresh dial with the old-time Cosmo vibe well said, DL...
Jimster Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Is it for sale? It's a nice look. I really like the way the sub dial cluster on that dial. Jim
HauteHippie Posted August 19, 2009 Author Report Posted August 19, 2009 The one in the pics is not for sale, but there is one for sale at the moment... I've been debating with myself over what its value should be. The price is down from when I saw one for sale a couple years ago. But I don't know if it is down far enough. Hard to say. 300 pieces. Not much sales history.
ubiquitous Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Personally, I love it. Very striking and bold design... And nicely framed within the contrasting bezel. This would be a nice companion to a standard Speedmaster.
kronos twin Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I also like that it has the old piepan look to it. Thanks for sharing, Chief!
gioarmani Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Pity it doesn't say Mitsukoshi anywhere on it. They're like the Harrod's of Ginza. There's one in EPCOT's Japan too.
Stephane Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Me like it very much too! I have no idea what a fair price would be but why not go for it?
