Anakin14 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Can anyone identify this? It looks like a frankenwatch to me, but I'm not knowledgeable about Rolexes. click here for more
docblackrock Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 It's a gen Tudor, not sure where you got "franken Rolex" from? http://www.tudorwatch.com/
KB Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Tudor is Rolex's little sister, they share a lot of similarities but are two distinct brands. Ken
lanikai Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Both brands were fathered by Hans Wilsdorf; Rolex in 1905, and, Tudor, the baby, in 1946. it was in the 1990's I believe that it was decided that they should go their separate ways Tudor was supposed to be established as a more affordable line..I believe... robertk Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 Tudors use a 7750 movement distinctly different from a rolex movement. They are suddenly becoming more popular.
Member X Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 (edited) Tudors look like the much easier bet to franken with an A7750! Assuming you can find the case / dial / hands... Edited September 11, 2009 by Member X
Anakin14 Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Thanks everyone! Like I said, I'm not familiar with Rolex / Tudors and I wasn't sure that this wasn't a watch that someone cobbled together out of spare parts (gen & non-gen). Now, if this was an Omega then I wouldn't be asking this question
