Hi beat vs. low beat 7750

Is there any way to tell by looking at the movement if it is a high beat 7750 or a low beat 7750?

If you have calipers, the hands are diffent sized, but the measuring is microscopic.

I've read Zig comment that some movements look to be old slow beat or new high beat...not sure how he tells.

Hold it to your ear.

If you have a 28,8 listen to it (28xx). If you have a 21,6 (6497 PAM, Old 21J) listen to it. Personally, I find it easy to tell by listening.

"looking" at it, start the Chrono. If you have good eyes or a loupe, try and visualize and count the bph between each seconds hash. Slow beat your eye/count should see 6, High beat you should see 8.

I think most 28.8k ones don't have a regulator.

but listening to it is best if you have a confirmed 21.6k en 28.8k. Personally, i put it in my TYMC Timegrapher. it automatically selects the beat number.
