chronoluvvv Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 thanks for posting ... do ya really drive a cab ?
redwatch Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 No and I don't live in NYC either But it makes a nice backdrop for the pics, doesn't it?
Toadtorrent Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 The cab makes a great backdrop. I love that DeVille shot. The light studio is working for you.
chubbchubb Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Nice pictures. Just don't forget your watches in the cab.....
redwatch Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 God! Could you imagine if something like that were to happen??? I think I would die from an instant heart attack! I cannot imagine what it would feel like if I ever lost a gen watch somewhere. I would be devastated!
poljot Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 nice collection, my personal favorite: omega seamaster vintage....
dbutlerman Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Nice Pics Red! Clever idea using the car as a "watch holder" for the shots! I can't wait for my light box to come in so I can try it out...maybe something similar - i have lots of car models I can use
chronoluvvv Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 No and I don't live in NYC either But it makes a nice backdrop for the pics, doesn't it? yep it sure does i can definitely appreciate the creative use of props v/s those Timex plastic watch holders
jeff g Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Your vintage SeaMaster 300 is nice. Tell us about it.
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Nice collection, a lot of these could benefit from more DOF though - keep up the practice.
redwatch Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 Your vintage SeaMaster 300 is nice. Tell us about it. You can read about the Vintage SM300 here @ The Philospher - thanks! I am still learning about the aperture settings vs. DOF but I'm starting to understand it more. Thanks for the tip on setting the camera to F16 - F18. That seems to be helping a lot. Especially with the Tamron macro lens.
Guest ThePhilosopher Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 I have the same lens - if you have any questions about using it don't hesitate to ask; I stop down quite far for 1:1 macros of small objects (f/32, f/51, etc...) to get enough DOF - but I have ample lighting gear to allow for such apertures (as shutter speed doesn't matter much with flash).
