Nanuq Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Moose in Alaska are so smart, they wait for the crosswalk sign to change.

P4GTR Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 Are they friendly? What would it do if I walked over and tried to pet it?
Nanuq Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 Are they friendly? What would it do if I walked over and tried to pet it? Nope they are not friendly, they are 2,000 lbs of ornery. If you walked over to pet him, he'd put his ears back (bad sign #1) then his hackles would go up (bad sign #2) then he'd put his head down and start moving toward you (bad sign #3). If you weren't running by then, he'd kick you clear out of your shoes, then stomp you until you weren't a threat any more. Moose can kick forward ... big surprise to lots of Cheechakos.
P4GTR Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 His horns look kind've small. A baby? I could take him Nanuq. Is that a common sight?
Nanuq Posted September 30, 2009 Author Report Posted September 30, 2009 Yeah he's still a McNugget, probably not more than 6 feet at the shoulders. It's very common to see that. We had an old moose in town for years that we named Buzzwinkle because he'd get drunk on fermented apples or mtn ash berries, and stagger around town falling asleep in the parks or peoples' yards.
P4GTR Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 See, thats my kind've moose. Bet he let everyone pet him.
