paneristi_man Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Main article in the Australian about the AUD$ heading for parity with the USD! This is certainly good news for us down under, better buying power!! For a while we had to suffer the weak dollar which really restricts buying from overseas. I'm sure all my fellow aussies are thrilled.
trailboss Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Yep, the USD is going down however and that is not good news for us either as it pushes up prices as the USD loses ground against the yuan. We want the AUD to go up without the USD losing ground. Still, we are a lot better off than we were a cpl of weeks ago. Don't forget however that it kills Aussie exports so the whole scene is not rosey. Col.
Toadtorrent Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Yup...CDN dollar was doing great today, so dropped a load into my USD account. Woohoo!! Shopping time!
mastrmindalliance Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Yep great news, my 293USD purchase yesterday only cost me 316AUD. Much better than a couple months ago.
KB Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Unless of course you're an Australian seller dealing in USD Ken

Col. yes it's quite selfish of me but it's all cyclical anyways, look we've had our fair share of the low aud$ when at one time just abt a year ago it was 60 cents to a dollar. took a trip overseas and it costs me heaps more....
paneristi_man Posted October 16, 2009 Author Report Posted October 16, 2009 Unless of course you're an Australian seller dealing in USD Ken i see your point, though you can always switch preferred payment currency to say Euro which you had done before right?
mastrmindalliance Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Yep, I am being completely selfish for the pure reason that I'm holidaying in the US over Christmas.
KB Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 which you had done before right? No I test ran it and didn't get a sale, so I figured it was better to eat dirt than not eat at all. Ken
chronoluvvv Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 when taxi drivers start telling you to buy Gold, its usually time to sell
