Watchmeister Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I have the Honpo version and those markers are screwed down tightly. That is the good news. The bad is that you have to be careful when polishing (even by hand) the markers. I ran the cape cod one too many times across the bezel markers and what I am finding is that I have worn away the chrome (??) coating on the base metal of the bezel markers. So polish gently. Similarly, if you really whack the bezel in the wrong way you can similarly end up looking at the base metal which looks like copper or some other similarly colored metal.
dadog13 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 every version has his own problems...somewhere bezel markers are falling off somwhere are loosing coating... well, this are just reps and we have to know that the quality will never match a gen...but after all both versions are great reps...
ryaku Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Yes, i've noticed the same problem with my Tag Heuer Link.

Steve G Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Warren- How thick are those markers? I might have an idea... I'd guess around 1.5mm-2.0mm??
Finepics Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 kruzer00: Sorry to hear that! Have u asked Ken for spare bezel markers? Have you tried to remove the bezel - impossible!! The markers are about 2mm thick
Quarks Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I have sold off all of my Ken's 187 so I have forgotten how it is already. I guess there is nothing much u can do about it.. I suppose. :/
frankt Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Yet ANOTHER reason to avoid buying the new "hot" reps as soon as they arrive!!!...And....IIRC those first "puppies" cost @ $1000.00????...WHOA!!!!...
heyyall714 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Anybody gotten one recently, EL tells me that they have improved upon the marker attachment on his. TTKs are welded so I hear. Just wondering if improvements have been made. -w
r11co Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Yes, i've noticed the same problem with my Tag Heuer Link. Eh? Wassat about the TAG link exactly??!!
Logan Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 You can get plating kits where you "paint" on the plating with a felt tip of sorts. That would probably be able to replate the markers in place fair easily. Ofrei's and other jeweller supply stores have them
