Can You Get a Deal by Buying 5 Watches

I haven't been actively collecting reps for nearly one year and the itch is back. In fact, having checked this Forum and the sites of all the notable and reliable dealers, I have decided to be extravagent and buy five watches that I love. In the past I've purchased one or two watches from Silix, Andrew (Trusty), and River, but I never asked for nor did I recieve a "deal" like a percentage discount or a free watch. But shelling out the kind of dough I expect to spend makes me think I may be in line for some special treatment. Am I blowing smoke here? If not, does anybody know who the best dealer is when buying in bulk?

Any thoughts and experiences are appreciated. B

its very common to get discount - esp if you are a regular costumer - or order more than 1 watch - my experience

I would check around thats for sure. To purchase five reps at one time will be a nice order for some dealer. Im thinking that you will get a decent discount.Maybe a free watch but I dont know If It will be any rep of your choice, who knows? ask around and good luck Mike

Just ask them. Come up with the total and, include shipping, then go like... hmmm 50 under that and they will most likely take it. Remember, you can still barter and finagle with people

You are certainly in line for a discount at five watches.

But, depending on where in the world you live, having five watches coming in through customs in one package could increase your risk of problems.

I've got to agree, I've risked 2 at a time, but 5....I'd have a few sleepless nights

Thanks for all the thoughts, especially the customs risk which I hadn't really thouhgt about. It may be better to split my order into two, using two different dealers too. In the past the most I ever bought was two watches at a time.

I would suggest shipping no more than 2 watches at a time.. if your dealer is worth his/her weight .. he/she will know this.. red flags go up with large quantities.. is say's "resale" to Customs agents..

You want 5 watches and the dealer wont discount go elsewhere.

Even with discount the dealers should ship in more than one package.
