miket900
Hi All, I am considering getting the old man a rep for xmas. Currently he has a Gen Omega Seamaster from about 1986 which is incredibly thin (it has a Quartz movement). I think it is Aqua Terra or something along those lines as it is quite dressy. Anyway, my issue is that he finds bulkier watches uncomfortable and so I wanted to know what you guys thought would be a good rep for him... it has to be thin!! My knowledge outside of 'what I would like' is pretty limited so any thoughts would be most welcome. Cheers!! Mike
By-Tor
Most automatic watches are thick because of the movement. Thin and small watches like Rado were "in" back in the eighties but very unfashionable now. Omega Constellation comes to mind. Personally I have never liked the gents model... it's almost feminine but it'd probably be a good choice for your friend. http://www.perfect-hour.com/omega-constellation-c-58_60.html Good luck. miket900
Thanks By-Tor, I get what you mean, they are quite feminine... Does anybody know how thick the Rolex Day Dates / Datejust out of interest?

Wow, the more I look at the Milgauss, the more my wallet is threatened, maybe an early Xmas present to myself...
ThinkBachs
Judging from what you've said about the "old man," these would be my two choices for sure... I can't believe anyone would ever question the Omega, and it looks stunning. I highly doubt anyone would question that Rolex either, especially with the whiter steel. Great choices Lanikai... nikki6
The VC was going to be my 2 cents worth, but Lani beat me to the punch! So now it's only my pennies worth!1 The Milgauss is a really nice piece and most of the dealers are putting them out for less than $200 easy!! Have to say, I love big chunky watches, but the VC Overseas and my Ingy are still in my top 5 reps that I own! The VC just whispers class, it doesn't feel the need to shout! The bracelet is probably the coolest bracelet on any watch I own!! Sixx
melu
Very nice indeed. The Explorer is beautiful. And can easily be worn with a striped nato, which looks good and is preppy, the way I like it What do you think about the Rolex Railmaster? 39mm if I'm not misstaken. The Railmaster is a "Super Rep".. a must have 1:1.. one of the all time best reps for accuracy..outstanding Lume out of the box also.. the rep strap is the best of the reptilian rep straps ..bar none. Noel Fleischer
i kinda like the men's constellation; i don't think its girley. it has a nice hefty bracelet. The YM is quite sleek too.
