ubiquitous Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 I was digging through my spare parts today and came across some gaskets in an envelope. I almost threw them out when I remembered a perfect use for them. Got out the 1680 and 1665, pulled the bezels and rings off and added the missing gaskets (MBW's come without this gasket, so it's a nice addition)
lionsandtigers Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 now i gotta go by gaskets??? jeeeesh, it never ends.....
Watchmeister Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 You should have told me that before I went swimming. Just kidding.
Guest avitt Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 You wouldn't happen to have a source for those gaskets, would you, Randy? When I modded my MBW DRSD, I used the case back gasket under the bezel (figured it would be easier to find and install a new case back gasket). I ordered some 1665 gaskets from Ofrie, but they were too large. I ended up getting one from my local watch guy...But I'd like to have a direct source.
Tribal Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 Good Job Randy, i have done this by my 1680 too... Rg Tribal
kingkitesurf Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 Wow does this mean that when you pull your inner bezel and Tropic there will be a space for a gasket to go in? Do you have the gasket size for the MBW 1665 by any chance....Cheers Randy
ubiquitous Posted September 4, 2006 Author Report Posted September 4, 2006 Hey guys... I'm not certain what size or p/n these gaskets are The envelope I found them in was unmarked, and I have no idea where or how I came into them. I do suspect that they are a caseback gasket of some sort... I can measure one the next time I have one of my MBW's taken apart
