gplracer Posted February 16, 2010 Report Share Posted February 16, 2010 I have an opportunity to purchase a valjoux 23 in good running order for a reasonable price. I already have a DW 6263 with an A7750. I was wondering the following: 1. What are your thoughts on the valjoux 23 vs A7750? I know the sub dial spacing should be on the money and that is a very good thing. Of course the hour totalizer would have to be fixed in place but who needs it anyway? I wonder if the valjoux 23 would be more robust. Any opinions are greatly appreciated. I guess I would use the DW case that is made for the mystery movement. ubiquitous Posted February 16, 2010 Report Share Posted February 16, 2010 I had a 6263 with V23 inside; serviced by Zig, it was a solid mech! You will need to experiment with the hands, however. Some V72 hands work with certain pinions (I seem to recall hour and minute); subdial hands were from whatever V23 watch plundered for the movement. Center seconds was from my old DW mystery movement, I think? It's been a long time since I've thought about this one, so the details are a little fuzzy...
