fleed
hello RWG i would like to share my seamaster 300. after receiving it from toro bravo decided to do some "vintage work"... the mods done are; -full dial & hands relume -dissembled the case, gave it some sligthly hits with a small hammer, scratched it, than bead blasted and finally polished it -dipped a paper in acetone and "rubbed" slightly the acrylic glas -replaced the stock caseback-gasket by a larger one -lubed all gaskets -reglued the bezelinsert with epoxy -rubbed the bezelinsert with carpolish -nato-strap -pressure test 6atm the eta movement is keeping great time. how are yours experiences with this models (is there anyone with the same model)? any constructive feedback is wellcome. : ) thank you for watching fleed

Panther917
Wow! Love that lume job.....and the acetone on the glass is a nice touch. I really need to do those two things to mine. Scared to death to touch the lume though.... Did you do anything to the dial to age it? or leave it alone with the lume? Here is a quick pic of mine. Couple of mods: 1) Painted the second hand white per gen 2) Shaped the case to slim it down a little and make the crown more pronounced. 3) Shoulderless spring bars to make it more like gen and fit the regimental bond strap. I was going to put it on a mesh (which I just sold today) but just couldnt bear to cut those springbars so it will stay on the Bond. Movement is very nice, such a smooth sweep. Thanks for sharing yours.... -Murph'

krpster
Incredible work! Very convincing. I've been considering this model for a while and often questioned the artificial aging but your looks awesome. I'm a believer now. Thanks for sharing. marrickvilleboy
is the writing on the back-case etched? or engraved? Also, the original movement should be a slow beat movement (565), so more accurate to put in a 2846 instead. Looks great though!

tr4driver
hello RWG -dipped a paper in acetone and "rubbed" slightly the acrylic glas Fleed, This is a beautiful watch, but one thing I don't understand is why everyone wants to mar the plexiglas crystals on their vintage watches. Polishing the crystal is very easy, and I keep the plexiglas crystals nicely polished on my genuine vintage watches regardless of how badly the cases get nicked/scratched up or how much patina the dials have. Again, beautiful watch. I'd love to have one some day.
