PangeaX
Hello everyone, I'm new to the boards as well as watch collecting. I've fallen in love with the IWC 3714, in particular the stainless steel with gold and blue hands and a creme dial. However, I would like the watch to be as nondescript as possible. I was curious if anyone has in their possession, or knows how to obtain, a dial sans any writing? That is to say, a dial without "IWC Schaffhausen" and "Chronograph Automatic." A crown without the fish symbol would also be preferred. Any info would be appreciated. I look forward to chatting with everyone and contributing to the community. Thanks in advance. Member X
Have you?? I'd be very interested in a sterile homage!
ubiquitous
I've probably got a rep dial somewhere that can be sterilized; remove the markers, and repaint with new subdial units... Re-fit the markers and you'd be good to go...
tomhorn
Parnis makes a similar styled watch with the Seagull power reserve movement as in the UN Maxi Marine Diver. Here's a black dialed version on the Bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/PARNIS-BLACK-DIAL-AUTOMATIC-POWER-RESERVE_W0QQitemZ190385658362QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWristwatches?hash=item2c53de99fa White dial with blue hands: http://cgi.ebay.com/PARNIS-PI22-44MM-WATCH-POWER-RESERVE-BLUE-HANDS-WHITE_W0QQitemZ370356186694QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWristwatches?hash=item563af2ee46
glennpenn
Would the Parnis movement fit or be modded to fit into the IWC Portu?
tomhorn
Not sure why you would want to do this as the Portu is a chronograph. The Parnis watches are seconds at six and power reserve at 12.
glennpenn
@tomhorn the Portu is a chrono, sure! But it
