jmb
The detailed build details and pics of this have already been posted, along with some updates, but with all the "Tudor activity" on the board lately I figured I should make a small post with the watch in final form. This was my first "frankenwatch" build and I really learned a lot from the experience. All-in-all, despite it's various "errors" and shortcomings, it looks enough like the "real deal" that I'm happy with it. The Daytona bezel isn't correct, the crystal diameter is a bit too small, and I believe the case is a bit too thick but I can live with it. About the only thing left that I will do is to drill the lugs. Here's the parts list and a few pics of the finished product: 1 - Gen Tudor dial - Lani 1 - Gen crown and tube - justasgood 1 - Rep Daytona case - Ubi 1 - A7750 movement - Ubi 1 - Rep Daytona hand set for A7750 1 - Rep Tudor signed Vintage style brushed Oyster bracelet Again, this project never would have been completed, let alone gotten off the ground, without support from Ubi, Lani, and justasgood :thumbsupsmileyanim: - thanks guys and my hat's off to ya! ubiquitous
jmb- I found this bezel in my parts box; still not correct for your Tudor, but it does have a nice profile to it. If you want it, I'll drop it in the mail...
jmb
That is a lot flatter, sure thing! It will probably look quite nice on it! I bought a replacement sapphire crystal for a Tudor and it's about 2 mm bigger than the rep Daytona. I'm thinking about maybe making a plain transitional bezel that would "fit" the crystal and the case. I'm afraid if I carved on one of these it would get out into the markings...
