The Swiss movement doesn't have that notch on the jewel. It's suppose to be a solid disk.

Sometimes those dealers mix and match parts but from that pictures it sure looks Asian to me.

Not Swiss, definitely Asian. Also wrong style movement for an 036. And wrong case material (case back says stainless steel, should be titanium).

EDIT: You can see the CotesDeGeneves engravings under the "Panerai" plates :D

What notch on which jewel?

Look at the balance wheel assembly. There are 3 types you will find: a straight notch (Asian), a solid disk (Swiss) and the T shaped incabloc (used in the gens like mine below).

Sometimes the dealers replace a busted balance wheel from the Swiss movements with a cheap Asian one. So in their minds they are selling you a second hand Swiss with replacement parts. Dirty trick in my book.

That movement looks straight Asian though.

You may also want to open it up to look for the missing swan neck adjuster screw. Appears to be absent and if it's floating around in the case somewhere that is trouble for sure. :g:

got ya, i was looking for an actual jewel with a notch

Sorry, should have expressed myself better. I should have said plate holding the jewel. A jewel with a notch wouldn't do much good to the wheel, would it? :)

Yep, definitely Asian based on the balance wheel, the metal surround on the anti-shock assembly AND the lack of the small dimple on the block where the mainspring connects to the regulator.

Yeah, bridges are the wrong shape and you can definitely see the CdG stripes underneath the stuck on foil plates.
