Omega
Hi, I need some help to replace a rotor on a ETA 2892, can someone help me with a howto? Thanks Bobby
Slartibartfast
As far as I know, there are winding gears that are fixed to the underside of the rotor on this model. It may not be as simple as just removing a central screw. Try looking here for the ETA tech docs on that model. This is a "Mecaline Specialities" product in the drop down box. FxrAndy
There are two ways depending on what you need to do, if it is just change the weight you can do that by rotating the silver washer around the bearing until the flats line up and the weight will come off, The hardest part is getting the washer retaining ring back on with out a special tool but it can be done You can remove the winding bridge and undo the 3 small screws that hold the bearing on if you need to change the bearing as well, be careful as this bridge also holds the hacking lever in place and it is easy to forget to re fit it
Omega
Thanks guys, I was thinking about the first solution, as I have modded a 7750 bearing on a Hublot and it was not a big deal to put the washer on place. But I thought there is a easier way to do it...thanks again! Cheers B
14060 or 16610?
Remove the autowinding mechanism. You will then be able to remove the rotor.
