rytox Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Hey all, just received two pics of my Ebel 1911 Discovery from my dealer. It looks like the "B" from "EBEL" is not aligned properly. What do you think? What to do, not to be impolite?
Member X Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I agree - looks misaligned slightly to me. If they've not sent it yet, ask them to source another one! This isn't a cheap watch and perfect dials (quality-wise) exist, so it shouldn't be a problem to get another one. Who is the dealer btw? It does sometimes seem petty to ask to change a watch over such a small thing, but if it's bugging you now it's going to bug you every time you look at the watch in the coming years that you wear it...
rytox Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 Yeah, thats what I've planned. Good to hear a second opinion though! Thanks mate!
Member X Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I've just asked a dealer to source another watch because the bezel looked to be misaligned by about half a degree... lol
rytox Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 I just asked, too. Will keep you informed! cheers rytox
LeSentier Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Yes, seems to be misaligned to me too. The "B" was the first thing that bothered me.. Good luck, J
narikaa Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Well Ive looked and looked at the offending 'B' & after thinking through all the options I think you've no alternative but to kill yourself (how can you live with the shame) . Edited April 29, 2010 by narikaa
rytox Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 hey narikaa, thanks for answering my post from the dealers point of view, though I'm not really sure if I know what you meant. Was it "okay" in your opinion to ask for a new one? What would you have done as a buyer? Thanks rytox
kbh Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Too be honest, I'm not really seeing it. If it's that hard to notice at 5X magnification, you'd never see it on the watch.
slickdick Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 What Narikaa probably means is, you are a nitpicking whiner. And yes, you are a nitpicking whiner. But you also have the right to whine and nitpick. Especially if offerd as a service by the dealer. Good luck and keep us posted mate!
narikaa Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 What would I be doing if I was the buyer of this watch? Seriously I'd be wearing it! .
rytox Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 Alright, thanks for sharing your opinions on that one. All local buddies who saw the pic asked me about the misaligned "B" without telling them before (all three of them). Anyways, no matter how bad it really is, I asked to source me a new one. My dealer told me, he's gonna send it back to the factory and will order a new one.
Member X Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Nice one, hope it turns out ok on the next one!
