boneventura Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) Ok, my turn to show off. This is what I did: Ordered a 3717 from PT in Feb '10. Also Ordered: ETA Day+datewheel: http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.aspx?searchtext=VAL775025611BW3 Crystal: http://www.2geek.net/eMart/index.php?c=22&p=23 Strap: Steinhart Chester Field old vintage 22/22 mm: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?id=67&artnr=136&Sel_ID=20&Sel_Cat_ID=1#136 Buckle: Genuine 20 mm old stock IWC buckle, € 40, from this guy: http://stores.ebay.com/watchplanet I sent the watch to Domi, requesting lume, service and replacing wheel+crystal. He offered me a swap the movement to swiss valjoux for a very reasonable price, and I did! This is the result. I love it! Although I'm still thinking about genuine hands and crown. Like to hear a few opinions on this. PS For those who wonder how the strap fits the watch and the buckle: It's tight, but it works fine! Edited May 16, 2010 by boneventura
gran Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Outstandig and to bring out the beauty even more I would have selected a black and thinner strap for this blackdialed watch
Toadtorrent Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 Awesome. Personally, in general, I'm not a huge fan of the camel coloured straps...but I like the cut of this one.
boneventura Posted May 16, 2010 Author Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) Awesome. Personally, in general, I'm not a huge fan of the camel coloured straps...but I like the cut of this one. I hear you. I got this one for a special occasion and it fits the suit. After that I think I'll switch to a darker version of the same strap. To anyone with experience: should I consider genuine hands/crown? Edited May 16, 2010 by boneventura
Gabus Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Very nice, the strap is different and I like it. Can you comment on the replacement crystal? how is it better?
ubiquitous Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Gen hands, and if you can find it, a gen dial are both very nice upgrades on this watch. I did the dial and hands on mine and have never once regretted the decision: Beautiful 3717 thus far... This is a classic design and a must for any IWC enthusiast (in my opinion)...
