It looks like I'm going to Amsterdam towards the end of this month, perhaps as early as 21st July until either 31st July or 1st August.

Is anyone in the Netherlands? Anyone up for a quick informal meet-up?

And any advice what to do and see there?

They're having the Machine Dance World Championships in Zwanenburg just outside Amsterdam - and there's a 2-story go-kart track there at the Silverstone Party Centre.

I want to see the Amsterdam Arena as well as all the usual things, seeing the Windmills, buying some Gouda or Edam cheese from the cheese markets, the clubs in the weekends, Wu Tang Clan concert at Paradiso on 25th July, Rembrandt's House, Anne Frank's House, the Van Gogh museum, floating flower market, the canals, biking to other towns, etc etc

Me too i when there once cant quite remember a lot though, I remember banana for some reason, I would like to ride over but that is the last week at work so i will not be able to get away.

I guess I should have posted earlier!

And hope Dutchy gets a look in here.

Looks like there are 3 or 4 of us going, but I'm the only one into watches... I'm sure I can leave those 3 at a privehuis for an afternoon ;)

Well, I love A'Dam and GTG's ;-)

I'm away untill july 25th included, but if you guys decide to have a coffe shop meeting or even better a redlight district one, I would seriously consider to join after that.

lol.. well it looks like I'll be there until 29th at the moment. Might take a day trip to Brugge one of the days too, but there may be no time on that day!

I'm there from 21st to 29th this month... probably going to the Wu Tang concert on the Sunday so Monday to Wednesday is great, last day Thursday will be hectic...

I would like to say: I'm in and would really love to have a "quick/easy" GTG that week.

I need to be in Holland on the 27th (not Amsterdam, but Holland is not that big), so that would suit me well. Wanna catch a ride from Brussels Stephane? ;-)

Maybe you can stay in Holland and never referee a Man Utd match ever again.

(note : to those that don't know, this guy was Man Utd's player of the season the past 2 years)

I'll probably get a pre-paid SIM for my phone when I'm out there. Hopefully I can get someone's phone number before I leave early on Wednesday.

Well I love GTG's and I sure love Amsterdam.. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

However, I will not be able to make it this time.. Just moved to a new apt and taking the family to Sardinia in two weeks, so it is a pretty busy/ expensive period for me atm.. :black_eye:

Hello All,

I'm back in Brussels now.

Simply want to follow up on this mini GTG...any progress?

I need to know as I have a pretty busy week and wouldn't want to miss it if it happens.

I'll make a decision tomorrow, monday.

Please post here if you want us to meet in Amsterdam or not :whistling:
