Hi mates,

just wanted to share some pics of my refurbished Seamaster Chrono, Ref# 176.005 aka "Jedi".

I bought this Beauty from a very good friend of mine - he purchased it in the early 70s, and as it got no wristtime in the last years, he sold it to me. Also a reliable member here on the board, btw. Thx to him!

This Timepiece is backdated due its Serialnumber to 1973. This is one of my vintage Timepieces I owe - just came back from Omega in exceptional condition - mineral crystal was changed, crown & pushers were fitted and waterproofed. The name "Jedi" was given by the well known Omega Collector Chuck Maddox. Similar to the "Darth Vader" and the "Anakin Skywalker", he bestowed upon it the nickname "Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker & Jedi" because of it's appearance.

First, I thought they were given the names because they played a role in the George Lucas movies, but I was wrong.

After using the names for a while, these nicknames established in several sales corners and also in the bay.

AFAIK, the original name was "Omega Seamaster Chronograph 176.005 Deep blue"

Cool piece of steel, and very rare. Of course you must like the look, but as I saw it the first time, everything was clear...

Wow, these 'TV style' cases are so retro and the colours are captivating - its stunning.

What a great choice to add that mesh bracelet - here's to the next 40 years of enjoyment - its a heirloom for sure! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I just picked up a 3570.50 from the AD this weekend - I hope it looks this good in 40 years time.....in fact I only hope I am around to care! :pardon:
