Janek Sarnowski Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) I've decided to run an experiment by taping a helios 44m lens onto my fujifilm compact camera.The effect I got is stunning macro performance.The watches photographed are Seiko Sportsmatic 5 from 1967 and a Wolna chronometer (featuring the legendary Wostok 2809 movement based on a Zenith cal.135 chronometer) from 1960. Tell me what you think (-; Edited October 3, 2010 by Janek Sarnowski
Katerchen Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 Nice!! And indeed cool idea... Was it hard to get the pics "sharp"? some do look slightly blurry. Cheers George
Janek Sarnowski Posted October 3, 2010 Author Report Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) It is very hard,since you can adjust the focus only by moving towards and away from the object you're photographing.They might also be blurry,because i zoomed out a bit to get more details,but then the "frame" of the lens started getting in the shot. TeeJay Posted October 3, 2010 Report Posted October 3, 2010 That's some really nice macro work, amigo
Janek Sarnowski Posted October 3, 2010 Author Report Posted October 3, 2010 Some new pics,processed to look like HDR. The movements on the pictures are: Sea Gull ST-25,France Ebauches 140-c i Seiko 6619.
Janek Sarnowski Posted October 4, 2010 Author Report Posted October 4, 2010 the s 5800.The lens stuck onto it is a helios 44m 58mm lens.For the pics which need to capture bigger stuff (the seiko watchback) I've also screwed on a 3x teleconverter (-;

Love to see that Some great pics mate and OTB thinking
Janek Sarnowski Posted October 4, 2010 Author Report Posted October 4, 2010 Unfortunatelly,all of my other cameras are film.I do have a crappy camera in my phone though. This is the cam with a 3x teleconverter on (for smaller macro e.g. watch crown or the seiko caseback) And this is with the telecoverter off,for some really extreme macro. Looks bizarre,doesn't it?
PeteM Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Great idea though And it works well I think Thanks for sharing
