redwatch Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Click me Certainly a re-dial, but begs the question if these ever really existed in the first place?
redwatch Posted October 6, 2010 Author Report Posted October 6, 2010 See that....you learn something new everyday Very cool! I quite like it. How rare are these in comparison to the other Comex varieties?
alligoat Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 This is always a good place to start: http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/comex%20watch.htm A couple of batches of 16800's were put out in the 80's- first were the matte dials and then a batch w/ the gloss dial.
maxman Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 See that....you learn something new everyday Very cool! I quite like it. How rare are these in comparison to the other Comex varieties? Indeed,I just learned something new, very nice
Rolexaddict Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 normally all Comex dials with 1000ft/300m printed have surrounded markers, I think - I could be vrong- this NDT on EBay is not a gen, but I am right if I say NDT sells 99,99% super over priced fake stuff
highoeyazmuhudee Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Comex were still issued into the early 90s is my understanding. always been curious who supplies NDT
Watchmeister Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Isn't that the standard NDT dial combined with a movement?
Star69 Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Isn't that the standard NDT dial combined with a movement? no - this is not an usual NDT dial - looks really good to me - at least better then their normal crap i wish they would make other dials like that cheers, Frank
Watchmeister Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Aren't all NDT dials refinished gens? Is there something that makes this dial better than some of their others. Is it just they "refinished it better". I didn't know that there were ever Comex Beyeler dials so I thought this one was kind of a bust. But I am no Rolex expert. I was aware that NDT has been recently promoting "custom" dials.
highoeyazmuhudee Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 NDT either manufacturers or imports and resells replica dials. they from time to time have gen dials, but all the "refinished" ones i believe are counterfeit with singer or beyer stampings and an 800% markup.
alligoat Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 +1 I agree with highoey! But NDT's copy dials aren't bad, if you can get by the price.
Rolexaddict Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 NDT = fake = over priced = scammers. Period. But it sounds like some are happy to be [censored] deep just kidding
