Simo Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Looking to add a PVD watch to my collection any advice on which one to go for. I have looked at Bell and Ross,Rolex, Pams and Hubs I really like the Hubs but my budget is $300. Any advice welcome and like pics would be awesome. I know this is a little vague but I know this will be my only PVD purchase so want to make sure I make the right choice.
mastrmindalliance Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 I suggest you check out the Sinn's. Very cool stylings. Awesomely replicated (one of the best). I love my PVD U1.
StormTooper4 Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 The B&R's are very good in terms of PVD quality and BR03 is a good choice
Watchmeister Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I say B&R as well unless you are going to spend more money and have it done on a Panerai. No Panerai rep in PVD is very good out of the box.
asf Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I have a br02 on the way and those look great
Simo Posted October 27, 2010 Author Report Posted October 27, 2010 I saw a Br01 -92 which i like the look of plus there was a pic with a killer black strap with bright blue stiching on one of the threads which I really liked. I already have the SS Deap Sea Rolex so I think getting the PVD version could be a little bit of a waste. got to order today so I get it before my trip to the USA in two weeks ohhh the presure.
dadog13 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 I'd say go with the Baume & Mercier Magnum PVD RG but just because I have one for sale.. otherwise, I would agree with the B&R or Sinn option
hiker01 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 UN Monaco.........looks good with jeans (casual) and with Suit (formal)!
PeteM Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Going against the grain here but when it comes to B&R PVD that there are some very poor quality coatings even on the more expensive versions... There have been a few guys with the more recent ones who have had the PVD come off very easily. I also have had 2 bad experiences with PVD on the 01s recently and after that I wouldnt buy again unless I was doing aftermarket coating. If you do get the better coating it can like some of the PAM finishes look incorrect to gen. B&R like PAMs have a very distinct finish including the screws on the face plate. If your wearing in rotation and not being too heavy handed you will be fine but please consider that when making your choice mate.
