Depends on how much you paid for it. I'd say if you gave over 70.00 you could have done better. Smoother second hand..??? 2836 28,800 bph is what you want for that "gen like" smooth sweep.

No commonly available mechanical movement is as smooth as "legend" has you believe. 4 "hand ticks" per second is as smooth as it gets even with an actual Rolex. Most lay people expect some magical flawless hand sweep, like an AC powered electric wall clock. That's not the reality tho.

That said, you have a lower-beat movement there, and it's not as smooth as it could be.

It's probably a DG 2813 that beat at 6 bps.

The only true smooth second hand mvt is the mvt build by Seiko, the Spring Drive mvt.

Rule of thumb, the plexi crystal rollies are 19k , the sapphire ones are 28k. So no.
