  1. I'm not sure if he still offers them but check with Angus. I know he used to have the Sub Supreme (aka WM9 1.5v)listed though I don't know if he still has them in stock. PureTime....he's a trusted dealer and Angus is a real good guy.
  2. I can't see where it really makes a difference, but that's just my 2 cents.
  3. SSD...to me it would look much better with a cyclops GMT IIc...the maxi-dials and shiny ceramic bezels aren't really my thing Engraved rehauts I don't mind as long as they're perfectly aligned Fat lugs on the Subs I can live with as the 16610 has always been my favorite..(though the 16570 Exp.II is growing on me quickly) The YM's..both I and II have never really sparked anything in me (although the new ones do...a BIG laugh..THAT'S a foolish looking watch to me) Daytonas..nice looking but the busy dialed chrongraphs of any brand have never really appealed to me. The new 216570 Explorer II, even with it's maxi-dial..is SWEET looking. (I prefer the Black dial..white doesn't do it for me.) And although a busy dial never appealed to me before, I've recently fell for the looks of the Tudor MC...70331 I believe it is. joerg...what's the watch in your pic...front row, right side??? THAT'S a sweet looking Tudor....WOW !!!
  4. AWESOME...that's great work. Any idea what the cost will be to have a caseback engraved??
  5. Well, dawg-gone-it...it SHOULD be. Thanks for the info.
  6. I ran across this somewhere while reading on Explorer II's. I've never felt the "love" for the maxi-dial set-up...but this is sorta different. Does anyone know if this is even going to be an actual Rolex Design??
  7. I've never been fond of the white dials....at all. But looking at it this way...well, the new version looks MUCH better in white, for sure.
  8. IThe dial is actually very good. But I've noticed it on many "Noob" dials and now that the v3 has arrived and I've had a chance to do the "side-by-side" it's my opinion that the minute indices are too white and pronounced...nowhere near as "mellow" looking as the minute indices on the WM9 dial. I realize I'm comparing a Sub to an Exp.II but they just seem too white and bright compared to those on the gen dials. Is it just me or is it so?? Or perhaps pbdad would have a method of "toning them down a notch" without aging them?? Also....do you happen to know if the gen crown will screw onto the existing stem and will it screw onto the existing tube?? If not, do you recall which tube is needed for the gen crown?? I believe the crown is the 6mm 24-603 Thanks, buddy. DR
  9. Wow...that looks GREAT. Nice job, my friend.
  10. Ronin, you are correct indeed. I've just went back seeking the location I ran acrossed that photo on....and I am having no luck. Please don't tell me you figure maybe that's a "dream" version. I wanna say I came acrossed it reading in Basel World but I really just am not sure. Sweet lookin', isn't it?? I'd spring for that gen. without any delays.
  11. The Franken BK WM9 v3 that BK just sent me is....well...AWESOME..and it's wetted my thirst for a good 16610 without dropping the dough on a gen..THANKS Bert. So now I'm concentrating on all the upgrades "possible" to my next favorite BK Rollie...the BK NoobFactory Black Exp.II The original owner of this Exp.II that got it straight from BK (and who's name I won't mention unless he chooses to chime in as he DOES know VERY MUCH about modding and is highly regarded here on RWG) has told me a gen dial won't fit this particular version of Noob. As have a couple of other highly regarded modders here and on other forums...as has BK himself. So it seems a gen dial won't fit and my question is...why won't it fit?? I realize the feet will need to be clipped and I'm guessing it's diameter is slightly larger than the recess in the case that holds/centers the dial. Sanding the outer diameter of the dial won't work as that will cause the minute indices to go all the way to the rehaut and even it it did fit then it would look wrong....but the version I have is the ICHS and is one of the few BK put out WITH the engraved rehaut....(which btw does look good but at the 9 position the RolexRolexRolex starts at the 44 minute indice instead of the 45...so I will want it sanded off anyway. Which brings me to my main question Rather than attempting to size the dial, can the case be slightly machined open for a perfect fit of the gen dial. I'm wanting to go with a gen dial simply because I've already got a gen crystal, crown and (can have) gen bezel. I'm seeking some help/advice/expert opinions from the hard-core modders this Forum has.
  12. I'm not really a "maxi-dial" lover myself....but I'm holding out for this one....it'll be my next gen purchase when it's available... True enough it's a sort of maxi-dial but with the orange 1655 looks meshed with that of the Tudor "snowflake"...I'm DIGGIN' it.
  13. I agree with Ronin....though custom printing on the dial sounds pretty nice.
  14. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L !!! That looks GREAT!!! Now if BK would only finish mine I'd be able to join the class for show and tell. Congrats on a job well done and on ONE AWESOME LOOKING 16610.
  15. That looks great. Now if there was only a couple guys that did that kind of quality work in the US, we'd be all set.
  16. The datewheel isn't correc and neither is the date mag on the crooked cyclops.
  17. oooops....79710 ....... Just when I'd thought I'd seen it all.......... http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Tudor-Prince-Date-Submariner-79190-FULL-SIZE-/150562556060?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item230e3a489c
  18. I would wear it with a smile....please send it to me.
  19. They're BOTH awesome....though I prefer the Chronometer with the date at 9 postion. Dates at 6 and 9 positions are much easier to read with my old eyes. And I'm REALLY liking the Calibre 5 WJF day/date....looks great, smaller than the Breitling Headwind and MUCH cheaper than the Rolex Day Date II.
