I agree Jack....so when your V3 has reached Super Franken status you will no longer have a need for your BEAUTIFUL gen Sub with serti dial. You have my address so just send the "serti" to me.

And I can also see where the shape of the v1 CG's would make the crown appear to be a tad lower on the bottom. They actually look the same height on the top...to me anyway. Wish I had a gen to compare...wanna donate one to me for the cause.

I agree...they both look great to me as well. Did your V1 have soild or hollow center links?

They both look great. But I'm not sure the variation in the cases has anything to do with the comparison. In looking at the top pic, I'd say the crown looks a tad bit low on the sub to the left. but then again, the Sub on the right either is or is replicated to be an earlier version. What are they, my friend??

I got lucky enough to latch both the BK WM9 V2 and V3 16610's. WELL worth the money and WELL worth all the gen parts for them I can muster. Pretty difficult to determine it's a rep without a VERY VERY close look at them. For Submariners, BK is the ONLY name in my book...they're THAT good.

Of course I wasn't around to participate in any of the WM9 offers back then. But I would have to say take your "lick", move on and chalk it up as "the nature of the beast". Best of Luck, my friend.

I have to agree. The bezel construction will tell alot. Follow the step by step procedures in the link I sent. You should have also received the email with the pics of the bezel assembly I sent you. (of course you won't be pulling the retaining ring.)

Looks goods, my friend. I DO like the Flat "S". Have you tried removing the bezel yet? I'm curious as to the construction of the bezel assembly. I'd also be curious to know what the engravings are between the lugs. From the "research" I've done regarding the origin of WM9 cases, I came up with a WM9 being a MBW/MBK with WM9 mods. At least thats how I interpret what I've found.

THANKS for the great and very informative links, Jack. Gotta admit by the looks of the tube hole in the cases the V3 is MUCH better to center. And I can certainly see your point on that. A gen bezel assembly would most likely make that much more noticable.

My guess is the 2002 Sub is the "classic" Sub he has there.

I agree with you...I too am very pleased with my v2.I've installed a gen insert on it and a REALLY GREAT GUY located a WM9 v3 bezel for it,as mine just doesn't "feel" right in the bezel click dept.(won't be home to install that until Tuesday). I'm having BK install my gen parts on the v3 simply because....well...because I can. I too am looking forward to comparing the v2 and v3 side by side. It will also allow me the opportunity to see just how much a difference the gen crystal makes compared to the Clark used on the v2. I've owned a pair of v2's and have had a chance to "loupe" them over very closely.(they're very impressive to me.)I have to admit I haven't yet taken the time to "loupe" over the v3...but I will. And I fully intend to trade the v2 for a BK GMT II Transformer if I find the v3 to look as great as I'm thinking it will.

I will indeed compare the 2 side by side when the V3 returns from BK. And will see the difference the gen crystal and crown makes on the V3. I'm curious as to how someone can see whether a SS bracelet has solid or hollow center links while it's one a wrist.?? I wasn't aware that the V1 has solid center links.
