  1. No doubt changing to a clicking bezel would indeed require changing the retaining ring. I'm still trying to find out IF a gen size retaining ring can even be fitted into this Noob case.
  2. I've sent the question of fitting a gen retaining ring and bezel assembly into this to BK...he's a very busy guy but he will answer, I'm sure. A gen dial wouldn't be necessary, of course....I was merely referring to case size . I gotta say, the Transformer DOES look terrific but the tension wire affixed no-click bezels....major downside...for me anyway.
  3. Not sure what a gen spring is all about but the 9.00 spring from Clark made a huge difference for the better in the v3 bezel for me.
  4. I can't help but wonder if a gen crystal and bezel would fit if a gen retaining ring was used. (that is IF a gen ring would work or could be fitted.)
  5. This is some good info. Thanks guys. I'm trying to determine just what gen parts these will take. Great looking/feeling GMT. The bezels are snug enough to prevent them from turning basically on their own but nowhere near tight enough to suit my taste. Bi-directional bezels are OK but I would really like them to be stiffer and to click. Does anyone happen to know what gen parts these will take ?? Could one start from the retaining ring out and go gen from there? (crystal, bezel assembly, insert and crown/tube??) And what about a gen dial ??
  6. I can't substaintiate by actually seeing it but I've been told by the gentleman that purchased a WM9 V2 from me a couple months back that the gen 93250 is a perfect SEL fit. So I'm guessing if they make for a perfect fit on the V2 they would on the WM9 V1 too.
  7. But what size and for what case?? I think I recall BK saying this GMT case won't take any gen parts, except for insert and crown.
  8. Any way to get a gen like clicking bezel back onto a Transformer ??
  9. I'd LOVE a Blue SnowFlake 9411/0 Tudor IF there was a way to put the same unidirectional 120 click bezel that the 16610's have.
  10. I must have gotten lucky. Both V2's had the "curved" gen-like spring. I just popped a V3 bezel on a V2 and needed a spring for that application. I actually had to rotate the bezel a dozen times or so to "loosen" it up a bit. The Clark spring has GREAT tension...perhaps a bit too much at first. If I was footing the bill and going with a complete gen bezel assembly, the gen spring would be a must. But an aftermarket is working just fine on the V3 bezel assembly and the gen insert snaps right in tight...no sanding, no shaving...presto.
  11. Indeed. No doubt walking in to an AD with a gen in hand would be a much better way to go.
  12. Thanks for sharing that with us, my friend. Looks GREAT!!
  13. Great looking beater, JoJo. That's the WM9 V1 case, correct ??
  14. Congrats on the gen 317-16800 spring. The sources I'd located for these were getting 75.00 each. I opted for a couple from Clarks at 9.00 each. And must admit I'm quite pleased with them.
  15. VRF can open all kinds of doors, though. Responding to one listing can put you in touch with much more. WELL worth looking around and even posting WTB Threads...of course don't ever mention replicas there.
  16. CONGRATS, sly. Of course we look forward to the pics when it's completed.
  17. You may want to be certain the Tudor parts will fit in the "PT 1680" case. I had intensions of buying one built by The Zigmeister from crockey but it turned out the parts didn't fit. At least that's wat was apssed on to me.
  18. I seem to recall comming close to purchasing a "Tudor Kit" 9411/0 and the case was going to be the 1680 from josh. The deal never went through as it seems it was sent to The Zigmeister and the seller later told me it wasn't built due to parts not fitting correctly. I'm not exactly certain what didn't fit but I am certain the build intended was with the 1680 from Josh. Since then I've realized that the case back wouldn't be right as the Tudor has an engraved case back.
  19. +2 on the sanded fingertips...but it works
  20. Be certain the click spring is in the case hole and resting in the groove in the retaining ring. What I do is once the click spring is is place is lay the bezel insert down and place the flat tension washer in the bezel. Then pick up the watch, hold it in the vertical position with just enough of a tilt back to keep the click spring from falling. Looking at it from the side, pick up the bezel and place it on the watch making certain the washer sits onthe case UNDER the click spring. When it goes under the spring, use my thumb to push the bezel down to the case. That keeps the washer and click spring in place. Holding it with a thumb at 12 position I use the other thumb to push the bezel down at 6 position. Push down at 9 position and when the final push is at the 3 position....CLICK...it snaps to the retaining ring. Works for me eveytime. It sounds It sounds to me like either your flat washer is in a bind or most likely your click spring fell out of position. Keep in mind that once the bezel "snaps" to the retaining ring, your click spring isn't comming out even if it's out of position, unless it pushes your insert out and flies out that way. (which you don't want to happn.) GREAT news to hear it's a gen like construction where the bezel assembly is concerned. I hope this helps you, my friend. DR
  21. LOVE the GMT II, my friend !! It's looks awesome with the gen insert. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  22. I will get some pics of the SEL fit on my V2 and post them. I know the crappy fit exists as I've seen many pics to substantiate it but I gotta say I must have gotten lucky on my v2 as I'm pretty particular in wanting the Best possible looking fit and for the life of me I can't see anything wrong with the way this particular one fits.
