calatrava Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 These are photos of my new Patek Nautilus and Vacheron Overseas replicas from Hont. In addition, there is a shot of some other Patek replicas I have, including a 3520D, 5119, 5127.
subbiesrock Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 That's some fairly refined watch taste... The type of collection I'd expect to see from a longstanding banker, or a finance guy, very elegant collection.
Migge Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 More pics of the 5711/1A please!! Goood looking collection you have there, wear them in good health mate Mike

guru Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Wow the Nautilus looks really nice. It is by far my favorite in that genre i.e. Royal Oak Jumbo, Vacheron Overseas, etc. Is Hont selling the same version as the Joshua, Andrew, and Angus ? They usually get the latest watches first, and are more expensive.

Migge Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Thanks for the additional pics! If you find the time, energy and inspiration I would love to see some pics of the watch in daylight
calatrava Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 Some photos of the genuine Nautilus for comparison.
calatrava Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 I'm almost contemplating getting the legendary MBW Nautilus as well, since the quality of finish is supposed to be much better, even with the issues with the date font and the date window position. In terms of fit and finish, the MBW might be a more credible replica...
calatrava Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 These are photos of the MBW Nautilus Jumbo. Even though it is a truly legendary replica, it's finish is clearly closer to the new 1:1 Nautilus than the gen. The gen seems to have an almost sand blasted feel to its brushed stainless steel. I think even the very best replicas have a hard time with the superlative finishing on PP, VC, and AP watches.
snowman1235 Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the GEN made of white gold, not SS? ...that is obviously then a world of difference, not just the finish. However, I'm also wandering about the new "1:1" reps - how good are they in real life? Calatrava, maybe you can give us your "feel" of the watch when worn during daytime? Your pictures are nice, but the poor lighting does indeed make the watch look it's lacking that final touch. How does it wear in reality?
txcollector Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 mine doesn't look so bad. Without doing a side by side at the AD I really can't tell the difference (other than the DW of course). Mine Gen
calatrava Posted April 13, 2011 Author Report Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) I guess the 1:1 doesn't look too bad in diffuse natural light, but still doesn't seem to be up to the level of the gen. The photos I had previously were taken with flash, which seems to give the finish a harsher look. I guess I need to drop by an AD to see how the Nautilus looks in the flesh... By the way, the gen 5711/1A is in stainless steel, and not white gold. Edited April 13, 2011 by calatrava
snowman1235 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Aaaah now, these are much more beautiful and naturally looking pictures! Looks stunning. Your last wrist shots made me pull the trigger!! Thanks calatrava! Cheers!
andyc2 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 How do you remove the bracelet on these reps?
calatrava Posted April 15, 2011 Author Report Posted April 15, 2011 How do you remove the bracelet on these reps? See the attached photo, in particular that of the strap on its own. It looks like the point of attachment of the bracelet and strap is the set of friction pins on the watch head.
ingenieur Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 what a beauty I used to be a Rollies lover but after seeing your photo's here, I guess I need one soon thanks
