Estaban Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Just got this yesterday. ABP strap. Not cheap. Very well made. Put a nice old style TC buckle on it. What do you think?? This strap is indestructible.
lionsandtigers Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 looks like stingray, but who know, you're pic there is messing my brain up!
pizzanooo Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 I like it, just saw a dealer offering these up again. Have almost, and have`nt a few times on this hide. Btw, did you have to punch out the holes bigger on the strap for the new buckle?
retep Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Lord, I hope not. I`m affraid it is. Go to abp click here and go to step 1 then selekt unusual leathers and then u will see some very exotic kind of leathers.

gioarmani Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Elephant?! That's [censored]ing irresponsibly sick.
gioarmani Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Emailed. We'll see exactly how those [censored]ers obtain it. Sorry, but even if it's done through legal methods, in principle & symbolically that's still morally repugnant. Disgusting.
Estaban Posted October 11, 2006 Author Report Posted October 11, 2006 I have no idea how they acquire the hides. It's obviously not illegal as they ship all over the world. I'm sure the hides don't come from poachers. It is a beautiful strap that will outlive me. It's like armor. Sorry to offend anyone by wearing it. My daughter really likes Babar, so maybe when she's old enough to ask what Daddy's strap is made of, it will be sold.

To each his own, I`m sure the hides are obtained legally and your views are respected. This thread is whether you like it or not, not views on morality.
gioarmani Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 No offence at all--none intended either. I just can't believe someone would start a site hocking that stuff. Replicas never lead to the death of a species. But with the "intellgence" of mankind in the 21st century, why not replica elephant leather? It can't be that hard
