txcollector
not really. Poor AR and expensive. The H factory crystals are a LOT better.
Jkay
wholesaleoutlet990 has a mixed bag of goods, and a mixed reputation .. some people do not trust them at all. My own experience is that they have supplied genuine ETA 2824 movements at a reasonable price.
txcollector
nothing wrong with the seller but I'd stay away from their PAM crystals.
tessa
nothing wrong with the seller but I'd stay away from their PAM crystals. Ok any other suggestions get gen or good pam crystals?
txcollector
OEM crystals are very expensive and hard to find. What many have been doing is to get the 117L, the 219L or the 005k/318, keep the crystal and sell the other parts. You can get any of those for around $200. After you sell the parts the crystal ends up being less expensive than any source and only losing to the OEM (which would cost more than any of those models). tessa
the new ultimate 253I has a very good crystal. why do you say that . its not sapphire
txcollector
so what if it's not sapphire? In person it's hard to tell the difference with the gen. People get too concerned about mineral vs sapphire but few people can actually SEE the difference. I'd rather have a very clear mineral crystal vs a cloudy sapphire. I assume your looking for a crystal that will visually be closer to the gen. The ultimate does that.
prdubis
Mineral crystals are really more fragile and will scratch more easily, that's all... Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
txcollector
from what I've heard those domed crystals are quite complex to be done with sapphire. You need an external and internal convex specification that have to align perfectly. Since sapphire is harder that process becomes quite expensive. I'm not aware of anybody that would supply a 253 sapphire crystal.

OiRogers
I have a pam212 domed crystal in transit, will tell you more when I will receive It (this week I guess) Looking forward to feedback on that crystal... Domed sapphire with the AR they offer? Just "rediscovered" a 212 I got in a trade a few years back, put a decent strap on it and I've been in love... I may have to grab a newer version and upgrade to sapphire. If not a 212, one of the other 2 subdial chronos is certainly on my short list. mambo
I have a 212 crystal from wholesaleoutlet990 installed on my Pam .... This is the result ( done by FineDD ) It wasn't an easy fit according to Uwe, some adjustments had to be made with the crystal gasket
PeteM
Nice pics mate.... Clear to see it aint like the gen....
mambo
Indeed definitely not like the gen ... But for me an improvement over the mineral crystal ( this is not the recent Ultimate 212 but an older version .... )
prdubis
Sorry to ask, but what are the differences with the gen? Mine is at the post office, I'll pick it up later this afternoon... I think I will wear my ult 212 as is, and will replace the mineral Xtal with the WSO one when it'll be badly scratched...
