Mickey Padge
I just picked up this beauty, having searched for an ultimate PAM Sub for quite a while. It has a double AR coated crystal, the lume has been tweaked to appear aged and the crown is a T48, I'll have Sead's A-F CG on the way soon too Here are a couple of pics, full size in the thumb links: Overall I love the watch, the double AR'ed ultimate crystal looks stunning and makes the watch for me, really makes the dial pop! There is one thing I need to know, hopefully you guys will have some ideas The lume looks great, however the 12, 6 and running seconds subdial ticks are untouched, and as a result, a slightly paler yellow, not quite matching the other modified markers (looks a bit more obvious in person). Does anyone know a simple way of slightly darkening/ageing them to match? Any thoughts and observations would be most welcome!
dutchguy2
Hi Mike, It is suposed to be like that. Here is a picture of a gen, see the difference? I have an other, better example some where, will edit when I found it.

dutchguy2
And the last one. What you an see is that the hands are lighter in color as well.
Mickey Padge
Thanks for the pics! The hands look a little lighter, but the numerals and pearl seems the same colour to me?
dutchguy2
To me the hands and the numerals, the 12 and 6, are all lighter than the dot indexes. I've seen this on almost all examples of gen's I've seen so far.
Mickey Padge
Hmm, maybe it's my monitor!? Still, the colour difference on my dial seems too pronounced anyway, so even a little darker would help, if not to actually make them match
dutchguy2
Sure, but it is probably a lot easier to relume the hands to match the numerals and at the same time making it more gen like Never the less you have a fine example there. Wear it in good health.
Mickey Padge
Thanks! However re-luming is way beyond what I can do! I was hoping some of the dial ageing guys might have some tricks!
PAM_SWE
Where did you get your PAM 199 ? I've been searching for ever to find a GOOD Submersible
Mickey Padge
I picked up a couple of ultimate PAM 199's in a trade, although the second one is stock without mods, and needs the bezel tweaked, as it sits off center, between clicks at 12 That's another thing I need to figure out how to do! Mickey Padge
The A/R is amazing. Mine is nowhere near that good. Is it stock? Sorry, missed your reply! The AR is not stock, it has double AR coating from fineDD Decided to leave the lume as is, but Sead's A-F crown guard is on the way

Mickey Padge
Really is one of my favorite Pam subs. Fantastic piece bro. Love that dial!! Thanks, just finished this piece off with a Sead crown guard, looks much better than the stock version!
Mickey Padge
OK here are a few more pictures with the Sead crown guard installed A big improvement I think, the totally flat (top/bottom) ultimate crown guard was really bugging me, Sead's CG has a much better fit and finish, plus the curved topside This watch is complete now, can't think of anything else it may need, aside from a gen OEM strap maybe
Mickey Padge
For those interested, the Sead CG fit the ultimate case without any problems, and the lever pressed against the T deep dish crown very firmly. I actually shaved a bit off the lever to reduce the pressure
