Wolf Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Just arrived this morning and slapped on a Strap-Works Alligator. I am not usually a fan of black on black but it looks amazing in person, the pics don't do it justice. I am dissapointed the watch came with a scratch (left side) that I did not see in QC pics, but I am willing to live with it. I have the 26k and this is definitely different than the pvd. The pvd caseback really looks dramatically different than the ceramic case in person. The watch is very light and will be a nice addition to the collection. The last pic is the rest of my Pamily.
Mickey Padge Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Great pics, thanks for sharing, mine should be here soon too! How's the AR and sapphire quality? Out of interest, with my old ceramic case IWC Top Gun, I could remove light scratches with an pencil eraser or abrasive rubber re-finishing block

Mickey Padge Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 The Eraser worked pretty well! Thanks! Good to hear!
asf Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 That looks amazing. I'm just scared of breaking it. Haha. Though I'll have to look past my fear and get one! Wear it well!!
911realdeal Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 that is a good looking piece. Wear it well.
DuDro Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 WOW...I'm not normally a fan of the Rads, but this all black version is AWESOME!!! I may have to reconsider a Rad for my collection...Thanks for posting these pictures!
burnz Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Great pics! I wasn't a fan to begin with, but I'm definitely thinking about the 292 now Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk
Adz Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I agree, didn't think much of it until I saw Angus's video. So to be clear, is this a black ceramic case or a ceramic case coated black?
thogaa Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Wow - Strap looks brilliant in this combo. I'm assuming the rep strap is crapp Wear it well
Lobster Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I need to get away from this forum lol!! I actually dislike Radiomirs but those pics made me hungry for this specific model. I love the ceramic nature and colour. Oh boy... here comes the size zero wallet again
Wolf Posted June 16, 2011 Author Report Posted June 16, 2011 I agree, didn't think much of it until I saw Angus's video. So to be clear, is this a black ceramic case or a ceramic case coated black? Full ceramic, it's the one from the h factory.
ericb196 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Nice watch, I have to wait for mine that is on the way now.... I was thinking at what you did for the strap a black "croco or aligator" like, where did you get the strap ? What the size of this strap (27 or 26) ?
coolfire Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Great pics! I wasn't a fan to begin with, but I'm definitely thinking about the 292 now Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk You ain't the only one, bro... I got hooked slightly earlier!
awincko Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I'd like to make a strap out of your sofa/chair/piece of furniture that you photographed this on...
StormTooper4 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 That is one awesome watch you got there and that strap combo just takes it up a notch higher. Wear it well
HalCyon Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 strap-works has got some really nice gator straps which IMHO is great value for money. i got the antique brown gator en route for the 292K and i cant wait! my 292 is out of my local customs but the strap is still in transit!
cht Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Nice! When did you pay and who did you purchase it from?
Wolf Posted June 18, 2011 Author Report Posted June 18, 2011 Nice! When did you pay and who did you purchase it from? Thanks. Got it from Angus (puretimewatch) the day it came out I ordered.
chinsk Posted June 21, 2011 Report Posted June 21, 2011 Very very nice.. Looks like they have accurately repped the crown to with the part polished part matte finish. And finally a rad without a humungous crown tube! Yay!
sul Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) Overall very good rep , what I don`t like: -Sapphire sits too low. I don`t care but some picky owner will change it probably -Text font is too thin, I don`t care about it also, I even like that thin text better ( luckily text font is not pure withe, slightly cream, that is good) -Lume is not C1( more like a C3), it is slightly yellow/greenish on daylight. Has to be white c1 as gen has( needs to be relumed, easy fix). Thought this rep lume in dark is superb. -H factory hand set paint seems to be like hands are coated with matte "paint powder" , very dark and "satin" like black coating, gen does not have this IMHO. They are nice in real life but not gen like. Hands lume is matching with dial, so also not C1, not correct. New hand set with C1- easy fix -CP is as usualluy bad. CP has to be flattened polished but on rep it is no good at all. Strange, I am the only one who is always complaining about rep PAM CP, but it IS for me VERY DISTURBING. Easy fix also , need new CP. Interesting that most of you folks don`t care about CP what is very well and always visible... So out of box it is not perfect( gen like) but very well in terms of quality done watch. I don`t say anything about case, even if something is not correct we can not do anything- with ceramic is not possible to do anything. Rest- sapphire quality(visibility), case overall quality, even strap and buckle quality is very good. Ok, rep strap is not very soft but it is not very bad also. Well done. It needs some mods if buyer is picky, for noob it is perfect out of box watch. Sorry about bad pictures, but lume in daylight will look like this not whit. And CP...crap. and gen , picture from internet: Edited June 22, 2011 by sul
Wolf Posted June 22, 2011 Author Report Posted June 22, 2011 I agree with all the points you made, especially on the lume. To me it's too green when not lit up, compared to my gen 111, it is an easy tell. Also, thee is something about the dial that is just not right, not bad, but not like gen. Overall though, for just over 200 bucks, it's a great buy.
