danielv2000
It's become apparent that I must get a hold of some basic tools to continue with this hobby. Any opinions on the best place to source a decent quality "starter-set"? Thanks

Jkay
There is a substantial discount when you identify yourself as an RWG member.
VesperMatt
Just went through this myself. +1 to Offshore. Shipping to the US was quick and good prices for a nice kit. I ordered the basic kit as well as the Rolex caseback tools. Be sure to mention you are with RWG and you will get a significant discount enabled within about a day. As far as the caseback tool, I found out after (through threads on here) about the HORB screwback case opener. I haven't received it yet, but seems like a cheaper alternative to a dedicated Rolex opener. Maybe someone who actually has direct experience with both can list the pros and cons of each. offshore
I'm always lurking Daniel! Even in an hotel room in sunny downtown Guangzhou! A bloody hot, humid & sunny Guangzhou I might add. I will be back on deck in 7 days, and will bring along some new goodies for show and tell! Just register on the site, (www.watchbitz.com.au)mention you are from RWG, and I'll get your discount set up. Sometimes that can take up to 1 day.
