angelo348tb
Hello guys I am new here. Looking to purchase a large 47mm PAM127. Trying to read up on other posts but get conflicting information. I am looking for the most accurate, best priced, best service, any help?
Watchmeister
AS you probably found there are dozens of threads on the topic. Absent buying an older EL for a lot of money there should be a new version coming out shortly so I would wait for that one before doing anything. cloner4
Very true, although if you get a chance to buy EL fiddy don't wait because they usually go very fast Btw make sure it's an EL and not a fuggezzi
angelo348tb
thanks guys, does anyone know when this new version will arrive and who will carry it? btw, silly questions, whats an EL versus others?
cloner4
When the new 127 will come? No one knows for sure, could be a month or another year.... EL refers to Eddie Lee , he was a dealer from a few years ago who was able to source 1:1 cases at times or very close to 1:1 cases, his dials and crown guards were very close as well, although certain versions were better than others.. Jkay
Yes, unless you absolutely need one right away, then wait a few months for the new ultimate 1950 rep to come out.
cloner4
As stated if you can get a good EL , then grab it..because at this point no one knows for sure how the new 127 will look and when it will arrive

If have have a mountain of cash then certainly, grab this classic replica as you suggest.
StormTooper4
I really wouldn't waste your time on the EL 127 mythology , yes they my be front loading but they movements were so wrong and who wants to go through nonsense of removing the bezel , and then swapping the movement over, just so they can say they can Whoop Woooo. Angus may have this 1950 and it has a very good looking and correct movement. Or try DSN and here They might not be available but its worth a try as they are very good watches , a Modded EL will be an expensive watch and if the rumours of a new 127 are true an unwise investment . Trusty is a bit over priced given the movement . Lays could tied you over and let you get your fix until the new one appears, and you may well be wearing it for a while Hope this helps, good luck ST4
cloner4
Any rep mov on a 127 or 217 will be garbage, doesn't matter if it's an EL or any other, they have never ever gotten the mov right, so that shouldn't be a factor in deciding which to get

Jkay
Not an expert but that's the biggest giveaway Do you have a good quality image of a gen 1950 movement you could share with us? That would be most informative.

txcollector
No factory has been able to replicate the finish of the G series bridges. If you really want a good 127 you will need to replace the movement. That's the first thing people will want to see. The front loading El cases will be preferable if you want a good rep. As for the Angus model listed above, save your money. That's a POS. DSN is not that great either but it's better than that.
Bato69
thanks guys, does anyone know when this new version will arrive and who will carry it? btw, silly questions, whats an EL versus others? Jkay
Thank you for posting those movement macros. I see that the plates are engraved, and then a sunburst radiating from the central jewel is machined into the plates, and that the gears' teeth are beveled and polished. cloner4
Its the total package, so simple but very hard to duplicate, that's why its one of the first things to be called out on a rep
