JWR Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I'd not be opposed to beginning to write a Panerai guide; unfortunately it seems a daunting task to begin, what with so many different iterations of a myriad of models to choose from -- a lot of the different versions from different sources are minutely differentiated from one another... I count at least five currently available versions of PAM 111 reps... If one would undergo this sort of writeup, I can't help but think that it would have to gloss over many of the individual flaws on a per-model basis, and be more generally grouped -- like the Panerai catalogue -- into Historic, Contemporary, and Special Editions -- and then go into details about the general availability and flaws to look for (at least in the Historic category, wherein most of the watches are the same, just with slightly different dials and so on). It seems that there are many fewer versions of comparatively more complicated models, such as GMTs and chronos, as they are less popular. I would, though, be more than happy to collaborate with others if they were interested in working on the PAM guide to end all guides.
Chronus Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I was thinking of doing a PAM one too but there are others who will know more on models I haven't gotten into, though I have looked at most. I may still give it a shot, but have to work out how many PAM reps there are and how to structure it. I think it would be different to the guides out at the moment, but I may well try it.
