Blue coating on crown

With the risk of sounding dumb and of course new.....Why are watches shipped with the removable blue coating on the crowns?

Thanks Guys,

Thought it might be. It was on a genuine and I did remove before wearing… that said in one of the reviews it was described as having blue crown and pushers.
