dutchguy2
On Friday I got the new 1675 from Josh. I decided to give it some vintage love. First, I don't think it is an easy rep to work on. The crystal and bezel are gen like but have other dimensions. A gen crystal or bezel won't fit without heavy modding and custom parts. The bezel is more like the one on a sub than on a 1675, I shaved mine to a thinner diameter. The case back is from a sub, I changed mine to a correct one. Lug holes need to be drilled, that is what I did on mine. The lume on the dial is very strong but applied very thick (high on the dial), not very gen like. I relumed my dial and hands. The CG are nothing like a 1675 but can be chaved to look decent. Here it is: Thanks for looking.
drury
looks nice! say, does it have the correct thin case?
dutchguy2
I don't know for sure. Looks like the same thickness of my mbw 1680. If someone can tell me the thickness it should have I can measure it.
cousin_hub
I have read 12,6 mm here http://montresmecaniques.forumactif.com/t2354-vends-rolex-gmt-master-1675
Guest zeleni kukuruz
Yes its the thick case, very sad that they did it with a sub case soooo wrong!!! I love this watch and i would buy 1000 of them if they did it with the right case!!!
chiman12
Thanks for the mini-review D. Doesn't sound like it is a true 1:1...disappointing...
drury
I used to own one with a lovely thin case and correct dial ... been missing it ever since! the 1675 is the nicest vintage rolex!
dutchguy2
Yes, it is one of the nicest rolex models out there. I measured the case, without case back, crystal and bezel. Its thickness is 5.5mm (my mbw 1680 measures 5mm)
Gabus
The crown looks too big also, might just be the effect of the CG. My gen GMT, sorry for the crappy picture, travelling and only have a Blackberry. Edited October 4, 2011 by Gabus
Akira
Looks like you did pretty nice work..... Much better due your treatment, but the watch doesn't look like a 1675 though

Much better due your treatment, but the watch doesn't look like a 1675 though Thanks for the compliment. Sure it looks like a 1675 just not for 100% Next 1675 I build will be based on a Josh 1655 and with a WSO bezel and a gen dial.
dutchguy2
The crown looks too big also, might just be the effect of the CG. My gen GMT, sorry for the crappy picture, travelling and only have a Blackberry. Yes, you are right. Yours has an 5.3mm crown and mine does have a 6mm crown. (of coarse the one on yours is the correct size)
dutchguy2
Thanks for the mini-review D. Doesn't sound like it is a true 1:1...disappointing... Yes, in that matter it is disappointing. It certainly is not a 1:1 copy of the real 1675. To sum it up: -Bezel is like a submariner bezel -Bezel construction is gen like but with wrong dimension -A gen crystal will not fit -Crown is 6mm -CG are wrong all the way -Case is to thick -No 1.2mm lug holes -Thick applied lume (real thick!) -Wrong case back, from a submariner +It is the best out of the box 1675 (unfortunately) +No Date written on the dial +After modding it looks OK (to me at least) +Nice Jubilee bracelet Besides all the negatives it is still a nice watch (after modding) to wear. redwatch
I think in spite of the "perceived" negatives that it is a fantastic watch to wear! The aging job is top notch in my opinion! And that jubilee bracelet is just excellent! I love the GMT on a jubilee. Nice choice! Looking good
