ocram
Hey guys, I need some help in a weird situation. I've posted a watch for sale and got a PM with an offer. I agreed and sent my PP details. Haven't heard anything for more than two days from this guy so I accepted an offerfrom another member. And now I got two Payments. O.k., the first guy got dips, but the second one has sold two of his watches to afford mine. To whom should I give the watch now? I really don't know and need some opinions Thanks a lot Sent from my iPhone
PeteM
Always difficult mate... Did you contact the first guy when you got the second offer...? The bottom line is you had made an agreement with the first guy and really should have given him an opportunity to explain the payment delay before excepting the other offer IMHO If it were me then I would feel it upon me to stand by the first deal.... unless that guy said for example I will pay in next few hours etc but if the time allowed was silent then its really not his fault.. I would always state unless otherwise agreed that any payment not made within 24 Hrs will void any agreement made.. Without any of that sort of undertaking I personally think your deal is with the first guy... However its your call mate.... 2 days is a long time without the other guy saying that it would be this long but you never know why the delay ocurred in the first place... illness, unable to access website etc etc I think you just need to be honest with both guys and go from there
maxman
After two days without any comfermation or communication..I say... sell it to the person you want to sell It too. When I agree to purchase something from someone...I pay them within a few hours...thats if I serously want the item Anything less shows a lack of Interest/commitment Imho. It's that 'snooze you loose" sort of thing as far as Im concerned. But thats just my opinion..Im sure others will feel differently. Good luck with sorting this situation out. Mike...PS..I guess giving the first guy a heads up would have been a good Idea.
ocram
No, I didn't contact the first guy. It was one of them with low post count contacting me with "I'll take it" And most of them disappear after that first PM. I'm sure you know those guys. But this one came back and paid... I'll talk to the wifey, too. She always know what to do Sent from my iPhone
PeteM
Thats a good idea.... But maybe the low post count also highlights their inexperience in such purchases etc and therefore means you need to recognise that and be clear on conditions before you accept Thats not a dig mate... Ronin
Trust your gut. Sell it to who makes you most comfortable at this point in time, and issue a refund and no hard feelings to the other. I would have pinged the first guy after 24 and mentioned your 2nd offer and given him until xx:xx to pay, then moved on. Communication is key. wat44
Or, take both payments, dont send the watch to anyone, go to Vegas and double it up! Seriously, I'd go with buyer #2, two days is too long - 9/10 times, buyer would have gone cold in tha time.
