Best source for PAM buckles

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I read this forum quite often and consider this to be one of the greatest sources

for watch info on the net. Definitely wealth of all kinds of expertise here.

I'm putting together a few straps and looking for a good source for PAM buckles in both

24 and 26 mm sizes. Can anyone recommend a good source.

Looks like Rolexfinder is highly recommended but I was not able to find how to view/purchase

his stuff.

Any advise is appreciated.

Oh man... there are many places where you could get buckles from... it really depends on your budget per buckle and style you are looking for... post some pics and this way we could be more exact about the various options you could choose from!

No pics yet, but will definitely post as the project comes together.

The straps I'm making are for PAM 210 and PAM 111, so anything that would be the best compliment for

these watches.

Cost per buckle aroung $50

Ideally sewn in but might consider screw. Polished .

Am I missing anything ?

Paul/Rolexfinder sells beautiful buckles on 22 or 24mm, but you will have to have them sewn to a custom made strap.

You can find sterile buckles on eBay at good price. Or at www.panatime.com

Finally, if you need Panerai engraved buckles, you can ask your usual dealer if he/she can sell/give you some.

Personally I dont think you should offer buckles.... or at least offer a choice

If I bought I would rather use a screw in buckle...

ntmf, these are massive . Vintage and Coin ones look interesting, but a bit too vintage for my project, will keep in mind though.

PeteM, I'm just making it for myself for now, so just looking for the best quality to price ratio . I have a few straps from Simona all with sewn in buckles.

I might get a few different ones sewn in and screw in just to try.

Can anyone add any info on where to get good thread for stitching. When working with leather I usually use waxed linen thread,

but it does not come in too many colors.

You can buy rep buckles direct from dealers (I got a few from Fengtony and previously Andrew) and DSN can source some decent ones :)

Good Luck

Great, quite a few links to go through. Now from looking for buckle to trying to pick the right one.

it's definitely a fine balance between nice and rugged look and beeing so big that it overwelmes the watch itself.

I'd preffer it to fit under the shirt cuff, so for the dressier straps I'll probably go PreV, polished screw in and for

the casual ones sewn in.

Now need to find the right thread for sewing the leather. Looks like 4 ply Waxed Linen is the preffered choice fo most of the strap makers.
