I just ordered a PT DRSD. I plan on sending it to Pbdad for mods. I don't have the funds to spend to mod it fully but here is what I am thinking..

Trim CG

Install correct tube and crown

Redrill lug holes and install correct spring bars if not already correct

I figure I can get the other work done in the future. One question I have is......the correct crown should be a 702. However I can't find one aftermarket and a gen costs 400 bucks! Does anyone have a good source for a good aftermarket 702? Thanks.

my advice is be patient, you can find some genuine 702 crowns under 100 dollars from time to time. If you're desperate, just get some vintage 703 crowns like this one below:

The 703 crown sits too high....the 702 is more squat in appearance....correct?

Yeah, the 702 is a little shorter..there are many pictures around here to compare if you search out crowns

You'd also need a 7020 tube since the 703 and 702 are interchangable. For that reason. I'd just stick with the 703 assembly. And you can just put a gen 703 on the rep tube on the PT SD.

I tried to edit my post, the 702 crown and 703 crown are NOT interchangeable, but the forum software wouldn't let me do it for some reason.Each has it's own separate tube and they aren't compatible.
