Mt. Everest......the "Holy Mother" is calling!......or my aching joints!

I know nothing about climbing but don't LCD displays freeze and fail in cold temps? I watched an Everest documentary on Netflix and they mentioned -100F as a possibility.

Won't the Casio display go solid silver/gold and be blank at relatively cold temps? I'm thinking the phone will too.

I was very impressed by it's remoteness .. The city is remote enough then you have to walk a week to get to the base of the mountain. Wild stuff.

Yes the cold will eat your batteries in minutes. Use a mechanical watch, mechanical compass and a REAL gps in your inside coat pocket. I have to do this just for my climbs from my front door and it's not -100F either.

Keep up the training, be prepared for some real pain. I recommend exercise bikes for the knees, and when they toughen up start climbing. There are muscles you need for survival that you don't even know you have, yet.
