New Pics! Omega Seamaster Electric Blue Movement And Case Question....

I have this watch:

which has a great ETA movement.

I have picked up a Gen. dial and hands. Obviously, the Gen has a thinner movement.

Myb question: Will the 2892 fit this case that is currently running the 2824 movement? I would prefer the 2892 because the dia; feet on the Gen dial are shorter and I have to use dial dots to secure it to the 2824.

New dial and hands installed:

Will the stem alignment be okay using the 2892 and I would simply need a different spacer for the thinner movement?

I guess at the end of the day I want to know what exactly can and can't be done without sever modification.

Thanks,

Kurt.

I have this watch as well. Not a popular piece, but I love it as a beater and that electric blue dial just can't be photoed properly!!

Anyhow, I'd like you to post your findings as you go so I can see how it all works out. I doubt, as kruzer said, that anyone has done this before you.

I believe the swap can be done-

For one, the 2892 and 2824 are closely related in terms of design. I believe the 2892 was based on 2824 designs... Though it is a slight bit thinner than it's predecessor.

Also... If memory serves right, I believe Ruo has done a number of 1120 swaps into rep cases...

as Randy has already mentioned, yes its possible, 2892 will fit perfectly.

Movement spacer will be the only issue as the rep movement spacer is thicker, so when you try to use case clamps, you will run into problems.

hey randy...long time no see!
