irolexu Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 So I was looking at my 5513/1680 converted case and noticed POLEX between the lugs!?! Has any one modded it to say ROLEX? also does anyone know the history of the POLEX cases? just curious why they would have misspelled it to say POLEX not ROLEX...and I also saw a TW best that had the word design spelled wrong? is this on all the TWs or just some...interesting to why the cases on some models are misspelled...my guess to avoid a case from rolex? thanks in advanced for any explanation!
southcoast68 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Polex is the mark of excellence in vintage rep cases, you got a good one there.
rosnik Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 'Polex' is the mark of MBW cases , MBW beg really nice vintage sub cases , that with some mods can come to the top. Simply complete the 'R' leg to the P with a pointed marker.
cjjoyce1 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 My 5512 "1:1" case that originally came from Josh (with the stubby crown guards) is also marked Polex.
Ephry73 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 I can trade you the case for one that reads ROLEX correctly if you MUST have it. E
modelizer Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 My 5512 "1:1" case that originally came from Josh (with the stubby crown guards) is also marked Polex. Yup, the later stubby CG "1:1" vintage reps from the cartel also has Polex between the lugs. Maybe a MBW/ MBK copy since they also accept gen parts to some extent? A rep of a rep or just a coincident? @iRU: A quick pic will help to determine what you actually have on your hands
irolexu Posted December 27, 2011 Author Report Posted December 27, 2011 Sorry ill post pics later today the watch has gen crystal gen crown and tube and slow beat eta currently I want to install a red sub dial and correct bracelet. PS which is the correct bracelet for a 1680
